Farkas, H.: On the eriophyoids of Hungary. VII. The description of three new species

smooth, with merely some irregular longitudinal lines resembling low wrinkles. Width 80 p. Frontal lobe situated obliquely downwards in a lateral view, but terminating arcuately from above. Dorsal tubercles appearing on some specimens immediately on posterior margin of shield, projecting onto first tergite; in this case appearing as an elongation of the shield margin. In other specimens, dorsal tubercles situated anteriorly to (by the width of one tergite) posterior margin of shield. Tubercles cylindrical, minute, removed by 30 p, from one another. Dorsal setae nearly parallel, directed caudad, thin, only 12 p. long. Forelegs 48 p long, tibia 8 p., tarsus 7 p long. Second legs 43 to. long; tibia 8 p., tarsus 6 p. long. Claws 8 p. long on both legs, slightly arcuate and with only a minute terminal knob. Featherclaw 4-rayed. Coxae with insignificant pattern, at most with some hardly discernible lines (most specimens completely smooth in this respect). First setiferous tubercles more removed from one another than second ones. Abdomen with about 30-32 entirely smooth tergites. First 4-5 tergites immediately behind shield, Vasates-like in a superior view, and only subsequent tergites displaying features characteristic of the genus Tetra. Number of ventrites about 56, with hardly any discernible microtubercles (in some specimens hardly visible or completely missing), but on abdominal side of last 6-8 rings the elongated, bacilliform microtubercles invariably well discernible. Lateral bristle 20 p. long, first ventral bristle 60 p, second ventral bristle 25 p., third ventral bristle 20 p. long, situated on fifth ring from rear, not reaching end of body. Bristles very thin, apically indiscernible, hence measuring their true length very difficult. Accessory caudal bristle hardly visible, small, spiniform, about 3 p. long. Caudal bristle very thin. Female genitalia 28 p. wide, 16 p. high, coverflap with hardly discernible longitudinal ribbing. Genital bristle 16 p long. * Type-localitv: Hármashatárhegy, Budapest, Hungarv. Collected on 14 August, 1959, by the author. Host: Peucedanum alsaticum L. Relation to host: No discernible damage done, the plant showing medium infection. Type-material: Type-slide No. 305, and two paratype slides. Remarks: Aside of its specific host plant, the new species differs from its congeners mainly by the undeveloped state of its microtubercles. Epitrimerus bidensi sp. n. (Figs 3—5) Female 220-240 p long, its greatest width immediately behind shield, from then on gradually attenuating posteriorad; 65 p wide, 60 p thick. Dry specimens with a brownish hue. Rostrum nearly perpendicular downwards, of medium length (33 p) as compared to large-sized body. Chelicera 22 p. Shield together with anterior lobe 73 p. long, anterior lobe about 25 p. Width of shield 62 p, with insignificant pattern consisting of irregularly arranged, rugulose lines of various length; its sides weakly dentate. Anterior lobe in superior view similar to an elephant's proboscis, weakly rugulose, terminating rcuately, in a lateral view horizontally porrect, its lower section verrucose. Dors a tubercles minute, spaced 15 p from one another, dorsal setae short and thin, at most 9 p long, erect, removed 17 p. from posterior margin of shield. Forelegs 41 p. long, tibia 10 p, tarsus 7 p, claw 6 p long, short and nearly straight, terminal knob large, situated obliquely to claw. Second legs 39 p
