Farkas, H.: On the eriophyoids of Hungary. VII. The description of three new species
long, Libia 9 p,, tarsus 6 u, Jong, claw as on forelegs. Fea therein ws inimité, 4-rayed, rays thin. Sternal line indistinct, coxae with sparse and obsolete longitudinal lines, hirst coxal seliferous tubercles removed further from each other than second coxal setiferous tubercles. Abdomen with about 45 smooth tergites. Ventrites about 62 in number, with densely spaced minute and sphaerical microtubercles. Last 7-8 rings with elongated and bacilliform microtubercles ventrally. Lateral bristle 18 p. long, first ventral bristle 45 u, long, second ventral bristle 14 p, third ventral bristle 30 p long, reaching posterior margin of body. Bristles setiform, thin, attenuating. Caudal bristle thin, about 60 p long, accessory caudal bristle minute, spiniform, frequently indiscernible, about 4 p long. Female genitalia 30 p. wide, 16 p long, coverflap with about 8 thin, irregularly decurrent ribs. Genital bristle 13 p. Tergites forming a strong ridge characteristic of the genus Epitrimerus, median section of shield deeply projecting backwards. Type-locality: Velence, Hungary. Collected on 25 August, 1959, by MAGDOLNA MOGER. Host: Bielens tripartita L. Relation to host: No discernible damages. Type-material: Type-slide No. 342, and two paratype slides. Remarks: The new species is best distinguishable from its congeners by the configuration of the anterior lobe being characteristically rugulose in the superior view (mainly discernible in good slides). In addition, the terminal knobs of the claws are relatively large, at least as compared to that of the other Epitrimerus species. Epitrimerus oculusinulae sp. n. (Figs. 6, 7) Female 290 p long, 63 p wide, 62 p high, cylindrical. Dry specimens brownish. Rostrum obliquely decimate, comparatively short, 22 p long. Chelicera 20 p. long. Shield together with anterior lobe 56 p long, semicircular in a superior view, 60 p wide, without any pattern, completely smooth. Dorsal setae 14 p long, spaced 28 p from one another, erect and very slightly proclinate. Anterior lobe extending above base of rostrum, in a lateral view slightly declinate, terminally and also in a superior view rounded. Sternal line not furcate. Forelegs 41 p long, tibia 9 p, tarsus 7 p long. Featherclaw 4-rayed, rather small, thin-rayed. Claw thin, very slightly arcuate, terminal knob minute. Second legs 38 p long, tibia 8 p, claw 7 p long; claw and featherclaw as on forelegs. Coxae completely smooth. Distance between first setiferous tubercles greater than that between second setigerous tubercles. Abdomen comprising about 42 tergites, number of sternites only slightly less, about 39. Stérilités with minute and rounded microtubercles, tergites completely smooth. Lateral bristle 20 p long, first ventral bristle 36 p long, second ventral bristle 60 p long, third ventral bristle 26 p, slightly projecting beyond posterior margin of body, situated on sixth ring counted from the rear. Accessory caudal bristle very short and thin, spiniform, hardly discernible, 5 p long. Female genitalia 24 p wide, 13 p long, coverflap with 12 distinct and straightly decurrent ribs. Genital bristle 14 p. long. Type-locality: Tahi, Hungary. Collected on Í6 October, 1959, by MAGDOLNA MOGER. Host: Inula oculus-Christi L. Relation to host: No appreciable damage done.
