Csuphegy K-i erdős, nedves oldalán, Fejérd mellett, 660-550 m, 1932. június 28. Szedte: NYÁRÁDY ANTAL III. g. o. t. Scripta E. J. NYÁRÁDY: Koeleria gracilis PERS. var. glabra JKA (Herbarium E. J. NYÁRÁDY); another specimen with the same data and text, but with a pale yellow panicle. I dedicate the new species to the recently departed Dr. ERASMUS GYULA NYÁRÁDY, botanist in Cluj (Kolozsvár), excellent explorer of the Hungarian and Rumanian floras and author of several generic monographs. Description of the leaf epiderm: The cells are minute and narrow on the abaxial and axial sides of the innovational leaves. The cell walls are slightly sinuous. The costal zone of the senile leaves are 3-seriate, the parenchymal cells alternating with minute macro-hairs. The walls are slightly sinuous. The costal zone of the juvenile blades are 4-5-seriate. The parenchymal cells alternate regularly with oblong silica-bodies, or the silica-bodies are surrounded also here by semilunate cork-cells, occasionally with a cork-cell between two silica-bodies. The intercostal zone is 4-5-seriate, the elongate parenchymal cells alternate with minute or initial macrohairs. No stomata are present on the abaxial side (Pl. II, Fig. 1, 2). The plant is loosely cespitose, considerably elongated, expressedly gracile, similar in stature to Koeleria javorkae UJH., and Koeleria jankae UJH. The rather less developed rhizomes emit, similarly to the two species mentioned above, 3-5 cm long stolos. Except for the Series Javorkae UJH., no other European Koelerias display such stolos. The gracile plant may grow to a height of 70-85 cm. The sheaths of the innovational leaves are glabrous, pale yellowish or with violet streaks, occasionally sericeous owing to the minute initial hairs, 2.8-3 cm long.
