Type locality: "Vietnam, boreo-occid. : in dumetis sempervirentibus, pr. pag. Sa-Pa, ad viam. (L.c. No. 2561). In alt. 1700 msm." Collectors: Dr. T. Pócs, KHOI, TIBP, 23 Sept., 1963. Host: Oxyspora paniculata DC. (Melastomaceae). The mite is free-living on the leaf. No discernible deformation was caused. Type-material : 1 type-slide, marked by Dr. T. Pócs as V/l No. 499. Anthocoptes yietnamica sp. n. The female is 160—170 p. long, 50 \i high and 50 u. wide, fusiform. I saw the specimens only in slides, hence their original colour is not known. Rostrum 21 u. long, declinate. Shield 32 u, long, 49 [i wide, anterior appendage obtuse, sHghtly extending over rostrum. Pattern of shield linear but indistinct. Dorsal tubercles spaced 22 \i from each other, cylindrical, situated in front of posterior margin. Dorsal setae 14 [i long, erect and proclinate. Fore leg 31 pi long, tibia 8 \x long, tarsus 6 long, claw thin, slightly arcuate and bullate, 6 u, long. Second pair of legs 28 <x long, tibia 7 p. long, tarsus 5 u. long, claw similar to that of fore leg, 6 u. long. Coxae not lineate and without granuli. First coxal tubercles located slightly above second coxal tubercles, spaced somewhat further apart than former ones. Abdomen with 20 tergites, rounded in lateral view, and about 55 ventrites. Microtubercles present only on ventrites. Lateral seta 35 [i long, first ventral seta 50 p. long, thin, second ventral seta 15 u, long, third ventral seta 22 [i long, situated on sixth ring caudad.
