as follows: „Wenn keine Verwechslung vorliegt (und die ist ja nicht wahrscheinlich), so handelt es hier um einen interessanten Endemiten aus Gruppe „Bulbosae"". Following K. DOMIN, also S. JÁVORKA incorporated Koeleria bivestita SCHUR as an endemism of the Brassó Alps in his floral work Flora Hungarica, 1924—25, Budapest, though he did not see F. SCHUR'S holotype specimen. Quite obviously, aside of the single exemplar, nobody had ever encountered this plant in the Brassó Alps of the southern Carpathians. Even in habits, the plant is an exact counterpart of the specimens, published by HUTER, PORTA, RTGO ex itinere hispanico 1879 No. 657 in exsiccata from the Sierra Nevada. The leaf sheaths, the blades, the panicle and the spikelets agree in all features with the specimens of these sheets. Thus the case-history of the unieum specimen had been finally clarified: doubtless an error in labelling, either by RICHTER or HORNUNG. Koeleria caudata (LINK) STEUDEL var. On the basis of the cytological examination of other Koeleria species, I assume that is it the hexaploid derivation of the two preceding species. I saw the first specimens onby now, by courtesy of E. PAUNERO, in the Koeleria collection of the Madrid Museum sent to me for examination. Those of the Madrid specimens collected in the locus classicus of both Koeleria dasyphylla WILLK., and Koeleria caudata (LINK) STEUDEL var. nevadensis (HACK.) DOMIN agree as to stature and all other features with the one gathered in a third place (Sierra del Pinar-Grazalema). On the other hand, E. HACKEE'S holotype of Koeleria caudata (LINK) STEUDEL var. nevadensis HACKEL (deposited in the Herbarium of Á. DEGEN, BP), shows a habit different from the preceding three exemplars. It was collected probably on a site of poor substrate, a crack in a cliff or some other similar place, and thus deviates in habit. Hence the later authors, thus also K. DOMIN, never assumed the
