Mycocoenological survey data (Bohus&Babos 1958) : In the course of coenological surveys, it was found in the following associations, that is, forest types ; in the Western Transdanubium : Querceto petraeae-Carpinetum mediostiriacum luzuletosum and Pineto-Quercetum; in the area of the Hungarian Central Mountains : Querceto petraeae-Carpinetum pannonicum caricetosum pilosae, Querceto petraeae-Carpinetum pannonicum corydaletosum, Querceto petraeae-Carpinetum pannonicum subnudum, Potentillo-Quercetum (petraea, cerris) pannonicum mclicetosum uniflorae, Luzulo-Quercetum subcarpaticum, Luzulo-Quercetum subcarpaticum fagetosum. Russula heterophylla Fr. Distributed generally in Europe ; frequent in some areas. It is very frequent in Hungary, and the most common in the Mts. Buda. In this area, it occurs sometimes in masses, in every color and hue characteristical of the species. In the northeastern part of the country, however, there may be found rather its vivid green, yellowish green and ochreous specimens (in certain points of the Mts. Zemplén), conforming to those collected by J. Schaeffer, in the beech woods of Denmark. Herb. : 16 data from the areas of the Central Mountains and the Western Transdanubium.
