Bohus, G. ; Babos, M.: Notes on the occurrence in Hungary of Russula species, with regard to their range in Europe

Russula heterophylla Fr. var. vesca Fr. n. c. Distributed also in the whole of Europe, but in large areas it is more frequent than the nominate form. Concerning the various synonymizing endeavours in literature of R. heterophylla and vesca, we mav make our contribution in the followings : it was found, on the basis of an investigated material originating from a locality where R. heterophylla and R. vesca both occur in great quantities, that R. vesca is not a distinct species (Bot. Közi., 44, 1954, p. 61). The differences between R. heterophylla and vesca are not greater than the one between R. grisea and its var. rosea (wholly pink cap, suggesting R. vesca). The eight transitional colors between R. heterophylla and vesca were given in a colored Plate (loc. cit.). Herl). : 25 data frcin the areas of the Central Mountains and the Western Transdanubium . Lit. : Bohus (1943, 1952, 1954), II o 116s (1933), Moesz (1942), Polgár (1941), Ubrizsy (1940, 1941, 1913, 1956, 1959). Mycocoenological survey data (B ohus&Babos 1958) : In the course of coenological surveys, it was found, apart of the associations, that is, forest types given for R. heterophylla, in Pineto-Quercetum in the Western Transdanubium, and in Luzulo-Quercetum subcarpaticum myrtilletosum and Genisto pilosae-Quercetum petraeae matricum, in the area of the Hungarian Central Mountains. Russula intégra Fr. ex L. Its range includes Europe, frequent or very frequent in some places. Its occurrence is sporadic in Hungary, due to the small area of our coniferous woods. Herb. : Sopron, 12, 15 Oct. 1952, leg. Bohus; in the Mts. Buda : in silva mixta, 5 Julv 1948, Szépjuhászné, leg. Bohus; in pineto culto, 6, 24, 31 August, 13 Sept., 15 Oct. 1955, 27 July 1957, 6, 13 July 1958, 1 August 1959, Mt. Csúcshegy, leg. Bohus&Babos; in the Mts. Pilis : in silva coniferarum, 27 June 1948, Dömös, leg. Kostyál; in the Mts. Zemplén : in silva mixta, 3 Sept. 1958, Kemence valley, leg. Bohus&Babos; in pineto mixto, 17 Sept. 1958, Mt. Nagykerekhegy, leg. Bohus&Babos. Lit.: around Kőszeg (Chernél, V i s n y a) Visnya (1928—29); in the Mts. Buda (B e r n á t s k y, Istvánffi, S z e m e r e) Moesz (1942), S z e ni e r e (1926) ; Szarvas, Com. Békés, in Pepi arboretum, Ubrizsy (1956). Russula intégra Fr. ex L. ssp. laeta Möll. & J. Schff. A fungus described in 1934, rare to be met with. Actually, it is a constantly smaller form of R. intégra, occurring in deciduous forests ; its cap is unicolorous (a vivid warm red). To complete the description given by Möller and Schaeffer, we may add that there occur specimens which have only largesized spores (9—12,5 p). The pattern of the spores concur with figs. 4d, 4e, 5f on the spore table of J. Schaeffer (1952). The cuticular cystids on the surface of the cap stain wholly, partly, or slightly, with SV, they are elongately clavate, their amount varies (many or sporadical). Herb. : in the Mts. Buda : in Querceto petraeae-Carpinetum pannonicum caricetosum pilosae. 23 July 1955, Mt. Tökhcgy, leg. Bohus&Babos; in Potentillo-Quercetum (petraea, cerris) pannonicum, 7 July 1958, Mt. Hárshegybokorhegy, leg. Bohus&Babos; in the Mts. Pilis : in Potentillo-Quercetum (petraea, cerris) pannonicum, 9 July 1958, around the Lake Rekettyés, leg. Bohus&Babos; in the Mts. Bükk : in Luzulo-Quercetum subcarpaticum, 31 July 1957, near Stimetz house, leg. Bohus&Babos. Lit. : sub. nom. jR. laeta : in the Mts. Buda : in Querceto petraeae-Carpinetum pannonicum, Mt. Tökhegy, Babos (1958). Mycocoenological survey data (Bohus&Babos 1958): as the Herbarium data.
