Mycocoenological survey data (Bohus&Babos 1958) : It was found, in the course of the coenological surveys, in the following associations, that is, forest types, in the Western Transdanubium : Pineto-Quercetum ; in the area of the Hungarian Central Mountains : LuzuloQuercetum subcarpaticum, Luzulo-Quercetum subcarpaticum fagetosum, Luzulo-Quercetum subcarpaticum myrtilletosum, Luzulo-Quercetum subcarpaticum Dicranum facies, Potentillo-Quercetum (petraea, cerris) pannonicum, Potentillo-Quercetum (petraea, cerris) pannonicum melicelosum uniflorae, Querceto petraeae-Carpinetum pannonicum, Querceto petraeae-Carpinetum pannonicum caricetosum pilosae, Fagetum silvaticae subcarpaticum, and in a transitional beech stock. Russula atropurpurea Krombh. The species ranges in Europe, rather frequent in several areas, relatively rare in others. It is fairly frequent in Hungary. It could be established on the basis of our home mycocoenological surveys that it was consistently absent from coenoses on a basic soil. Herb. : 33 data from the areas of the Central Mountains and the Transdanubium. Lit.: Bohus (1952), K o n e c s n i (1952—53). Mycocoenological survey data (Bohus&Babos 1958) : It was found, in the course of the coenological surveys, in the following associations, that is, forest types, in the area of the Hungarian Central Mountains : Querceto petraeae-Carpinetum pannonicum, Querceto petraeaeCarpinetum pannonicum caricetosum pilosae, Potentillo-Quercetum (petraea, cerris) pannonicum poetosum nemoratis, Luzulo-Quercetum subcarpaticum fagetosum, Genisto pilosae-Quercetum petraeae matricum. Russula a u rat a Fr. ex With. Known from the whole Europe, frequent in the Alps, fairly frequent in France, Czechoslovakia and some other countries, not rare in Hungary.
