Starý, P.: Synonymical notes on the Aphidiinae (Hymenoptera, Braconidae)

ANNALES HISTORICO-NATURALES MUSEI NATIONALIS HUNGARICI Tomus 52. PARS ZOOLOGICA 1960. Synonymical note? on the Aphidiinae (Hymenoptera, Braconidae) By P. STARY, Prague* The present paper deals with the validity of two Aphidiine species described by G y f> i f i (1. c.) in 1958, as new to science from Hungary. 1. (Ephedras flaveolus Győrfi. 1958: çf) = Toxares deltiger (Haliday, 1833), 9 Toxares deltiger (Haliday, 1833) : Haliday, in Westwoo d, Introd. Mod. Class. Insects II, 1840, Synopsis p. 65. Ephedrus flaveolus Győrfi, 1958 : Acta Zool. Hung., 4, 1958, p. 131 (çf), New synonymy. Type ,,(9)" deposited in „Magyar Nemzeti Múzeum" at Budapest and labeled as follows : „Magyar Bagó, S z i 1 á d y, 27. VII. 1917 ; Ephedrus flaveolus Gvőrfi ; det. Dr Győrfi; red label Typus". The examined type specimen differs from the original description in the following points : Head transverse. Antennae 18-segmented. Propodeum with feeble but distinct prominent carinae forming central pentagonal areola. Abdomen rounded. Ovipositor sheaths of deltoid form and trifid at extremity, poorly visible but distinct. According to the quoted criteria and the type — revision in general, there is no doubt that „Ephedrusflaveolus Gvőrfi, 1958, çf" is a new synonym of Toxares deltiger (Haliday, 1833), 9 . The original differential diagnosis that maintains this species as related to Ephedrus lacertosus Hal. is, therefore, quite incorrect. 2. (Monoctonus Birói Győrfi, 1958) = Monoctonus nervosus (Haliday, 1833) Monoetonus nervosus (Haliday, 1833) : Haliday, in W e s t w o o d, Introd. Mod. Classif. Insects II, 1840, Synopsis p. 55. Monoctonus Birói Győrfi, 1958 : Acta Zool. Hung. 4, 1958, p. 132, New synonymy. Type ( 9) deposited in „Magyar Nemzeti Múzeum" at Budapest and labeled as follows : „Alp. Kudsir., Biró, VII. 1913 ; Monoctonus Birói Győrfi ; det. Dr. Győrfi; red label Typus." * Institute of Entomology, Czechoslovakia!) Academy of Science, Prague.
