yellow band ; on termen, six large leaden-silvery spots backed by nine dark dots. Pattern and markings very indistinct, washed-out, with exception of dots. Ciliae and hindwing as at former species. Nearest to above species. Female genital organ : subgenital plate a two-winged, broadening twin plate, arms very short, ductus broad, bursa long, large, with two signa as above. The specific difference between the two taxa lies in the shape of the subgenital plate, the ductus and the bursa (fig. 3 : C). No male specimen caught. Female holotype : Kom Osim oasis, the Fayum, Egypt, 9 Oct. 1957 (gen. prep. : 1003), and one paratype female of the same locality and date, both collected by me. Types in the Collection of the Hungarian Natural History Museum. Staudingeria Riihli sp. n. Alar exp. : male : 22 mm., female : 28 mm. Face with rosy-red projecting cone of scales, labial palpi long, whitish, third joint small, rosy, head and thorax reddish, latter also with white lateral streak on prothorax and along inner side of red scapulae, third and fourth abdominal segments with reddish patch dorsally, otherwise dirty red ; antennae of male with long, biserial ciliation, basal joint thick, reddish ; that of female simple. Forewing of male a light rosy red, cinnamon along termen ; female darker, of a cinnamon hue on pink basic color, greyish along dorsum and termen ; both sexes with a straight and rather broad white costal streak ,tapering before apex. Hindwings transparent white, end of veins dark. Within this group, it belongs to the near vicinity of pallidico Stella Zerny, which is, however, darker, and the costal streak stretches below the costa ; on first glance, however, it resembles much more Heterographis ciliatella Z., but its head is white, and only its first abdominal segment is red on its back, and its face is smooth. Male genital organ : uncus pointed, gnathos long, valva much elongated with a deep incision dorsflly which runs back to base of valva, tip slightly curved, costa subsinuous, vinculum a large U, aedeagus long, slender, no cornuti visible (gen. prep. : 1005) (fig. 4 : A, B). Holotype male : Marsa el Alain on the Red Sea, Egypt, 1. Nov. 1957. Allotype and paratype females : same locality and place. All specimens caught by me, and deposited in the Collection of the Hungarian Natural History Museum. Stenoptilia Csanádyi sp. n. Alar exp. : 18—19 mm. Head, thorax, scapulae a very light brownish-yellow, labial palpi whitish brown. Forewing brownish-yellow, becoming lighter and yellower from costa to dorsum, where it is quite ivory-yellowish ; a large black spot in middle of cell, and a double dot behind cleft, lower larger, upper evanescent and nearer to cleft ; some very few black scales on costa and on lobes beyond cleft (darkest part of wing) ; ciliae dark brownish-grey on costa, lighter (whitish) elsewhere,
