Miklós Cseri TRIBUTE TO MÁRIA KÁLDY Mária KÁLDY, born in 1945, has been working for the Hungarian Open Air Museum since 1974. As group- leader for community culture, she graduated in the Debrecen Teacher Training College in the subjects com­munity culture and library knowledge. In 1984 she obta­ined her university degree in the subject of community culture at the Art Faculty of Eötvös Loránd University. She played a major role in the elaboration of community culture and museum education profiles of the Hungarian Open Air Museum, and also in the formulation of con­cept for knowledge transfer and in the management of museum marketing and communication activities. From 1986 she was head of department for community cultu­re matters, between 2000 and 2007 she held the post of PR-head and later, then the post of director for the Museum Education and Methodology Centre (MOKK). Her work focused on the complex planning and imp­lementation of knowledge transfer in the field of muse­ums; being a pioneer in museum education in Hungary, she developed modern methods and implemented them in the subject of local history and ethnology within the framework of museum education. Moreover, she parti­cipated in historical, ethnographic and knowledge trans­fer background research of the museum’s exhibitions; she formulated the concepts for utilizing permanent exhibitions, on the basis of which the permanent exhibi­tions of the Museum still function even today. An extraordinary chapter of her life-work was the execution of a priority project within the central metho­dology development, as part of the programme “Museums for Everyone” (MMP) with the purpose of promoting the educational role of museums (TÁMOP - 3.2.8/A/08/2008-0002). Being the professional leader of the project, Mária KÁLDY accomplished together with Ibolya BERECZKI one of the most important museum projects for education of the past decades and so fulfil­led a national competence task. Mária KÁLDY lectures in MOKK, furthermore, she is also guest lecturer at seve­ral universities and colleges in Hungary. On the 26th October 201 5, her colleagues and admi­rers paid tribute to her on the occasion of her 70th birthday at a celebration of an unforgettable atmosphe­re. Happy Birthday! 258
