On the basis of the information of all persons involved in this question we can conclude that the loss of the documents is to be explained by the restoration works carried out in the above mentioned institute in August 1963. His Magnificence, I have received your new letter concerning Semmelweis' case history and I can only refer to the fact that your letter dating from the 27th January 1968 must have crossed the one sent off on the 29th January by the Board of Directors of the Town Council of Vienna on my behalf.
