Antall József szerk.: Orvostörténeti közlemények 44. (Budapest, 1968)
Jíí TO THE READER ! The centre of the Hungarian historical medical researches, the Library of Medical History (founded in 1951) has been publishing since 1955 a quarterly journal under the title: "Az Országos Orvostörténeti Könyvtár Közleményei" (Communicationes ex Bibliotheca Históriáé Medicae Hungarica). It was edited during the last 13 years by Mr. Ákos PALL A, director of the library, until his death in 1907. During this period 43 numbers and 3 supplemental volumes were issued. To help the advancement of researches in medical and related sciences and to concentrate the forces, the Ministry of Health and that of Public Education ordered the fusion of the Semmelweis Medical Historical Museum (founded in 1965) and the Library of Medical History. After this union the Communicationes will be the publication of both institutes. It will appear in the future in new form and under a new title: "Orvostörténeti Közlemények" (Communicationes de História Artis Medicináé). The first aim of the reorganised editorial staff is to preserve and maintain the valuable heritage of the last years and to serve more effectually the researchers of medical, pharmacological history in their scientific work in Hungary and in abroad too. We should like to render our quarterly to a scientific forum of medical research, a basis of medical literature. It will complete the scientific and educational work of the two instituts. We do hope, that our intends meet the wants of our readers. We beg for your help and for sincere information of your opinion in regard of our work. The Editorial Staff
