Jacob Reineggs, the first doctor of medicine to graduate ,,sub auspiciis" at the Hungarian university of Szombathely, the re­former known in Gruzian history by the name of „Jacub bey" is undoubtedly such a great figure in medical history and cultural history that he merits a special place in the garner of traditions, a place he so well deserves because of his progressive thinking and his activities as a reformer.
