TANULMÁNYOK - Vámos Éva Katalin: Women’s Opportunities of Studying and Practising Engineering in Hungary from 1895 to 1968 (On the example of Budapest Technical University and its women students)
c) Women's participation in the scientific work of Budapest Technical University Table 4 shows the publications and oral presentations of women staff members at Budapest Technical University in the calendar year 1966. 43 The Table shows, first of all, that the number of oral presentations was much lower for both sexes (about 26,1% and 29,5%, respectively) than that of written works. The reason for this was that opportunities to participate in international congresses, conferences etc. were scarce. The percentage of works written with female participation was not much different from the respective value for oral presentations. The overall figures for written works were of the same order of magnitude for all three Faculties, decreasing slightly in the order in which they appear in the Table. However, overall figures for oral presentations were more than double for the Faculty of Chemical Engineering as compared to the other two faculties. Female contribution to the written or oral publishing activity was not uniformly distributed over the Departments of the Faculties.
