Fig. S. ('Iiiiiu. Slemcup, porcelain. Made in reign of Yung-cheng (1723—1735). Purchase. Inventory number: 69.127. Jh: 9,5 cin. Diameter: 9,7 cm. Besides the famous tuits'ai and fents'ai vessels of Yung-cheng die celadon objects were also popular, especially those in light blue with pink clouds and in socalled "redbreast blue". The Yung-cheng celadons are characteristic of thin wall, smooth glaze, pale shades and modesty of colors and the high degree of their transparency. The forms are properly textured with simple and clear pressed or incised decorations. Usually cups and dishes were made. This steinenp willi slightly flaring rim is made in light bluish green. Its surface outside is smooth and shiny. Inside the cup is the an-hua decoration, consisting of a circle of geometric patterns at the edge and two flying phoenixes with two peonies and in the bottom a four-character seal of the Yung-cheng mark: Yung-cheng men chili. The color of the an-liun decoration seems lighter than that of the cup which stands on a long-shaped flaring fool with an unglazed rim.
