1970 Beside our regular tasks in the museum it was the revision of the holdings of the library and the photo-collection winch gave us occupation for a longer period. Again we have had changes in the staff: Miss Gabriella Imre, assistant, left us at the end of July while Mr. Géza Pajor, previously head of department at the Museum of Industrial Arts, joined us in August. At the same time Lászh'> Ferenczy has been promoted to Head of Department, loo. As result of the reorganization of the staff in the beginning id' the year Mrs. László Kecskés museologisl has undertaken the Chinese collection. New Acquisitions: Chinese collection Japanese collection Indian collection Near Eastern ami other minor collections: Purchase Donation Bequest Total 9 9 1 19 1 — — / 9 1 - 10 Tola 25 10 36 D 0 11 a I ions: János Kádár, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Hungarian Socialist Workers' Parly, enriched us with a large Korean silk-embroidery tilled "The grandfather of the river iXaklong" made in the recent past. Miss Anna Oelmacher, Head of Department of the Hungarian National Gallery, has given us those nine albumpictures which were painted as a keepsake for her by the painters of the I louse of Artists in I Isian during her Chinese study-lour in December, 1957. (One of the nine pictures, fig. 5). To ou i' gracious donators here again we express our deep gratitude. Bequest : The llopp Museum inherited from the late Jenő Sárkány an enamelled vase from the 18th century. Front the purchases lien 1 we display only four: China, Samantabbadra, small iron statuette from the 16th century (fig. 1): China, Official, gill-bronze statuette. 16—17th century (fig. 2): VYu Kii-hsiang. Landscape with figures. 1892 (fig. 3) Chi Pai-shi (1801—1957), Bamboos, ink-painting on paper (fig. 4). T ravels : Mrs. Vera Horváth made a study-lour in Mongolia from 10th lo 30th September provided by the Mongolian—Hungarian Cultural Pact. After visiting ihe museums and Buddhist temple of 1 Ian Bator she took a longer trip into the North-Western district of the country. She held as well two lectures in the National Museum of Ulan Bator. The firsl of them contained general informations about ihe llopp Museum while the second was an account on the Hungarian experiences of the museology and exhibition making.
