IPARMŰVÉSZETI MÚZEUM — MUSÉE DES ARTS DÉCORATIFS - Egyed, Edit: On a Textile from the Safavid Period

Fig. 7. The sewn-on ornamentation of the sleeves of the dolman delicate fabrics have survived only in treasure houses — or in fortunate cases — in the storerooms of museums. One of this rich treasure houses is the collection of Rosenborg Castle, in the inventories of which several descriptions can be read on figured textiles woven through with gold. The other significant collection is in the Victoria and Albert Museum, where more Persian textiles already known by experts are kept. In the famous oriental collection of the Arms Collection of Moscow (Orusheinaya Palata) textiles standing close to the fabric of our dolman, to its weaving technic can be discovered. The thread frequency of one of them is identical with that of the dolman in our collection; that is the thread frequency of the one from Moscow varies between 40—66 per cm. This piece is defined as a work made under the influence of Ghiyas by Vladimir Klein in his study. Iparművészeti Múzeum Évkönyve 33
