EDIT TÓ T H 1032-1965 We are mourning Edit Tóth who died with tragic suddenness on July 13th 1965 in New Delhi, at the end of a six-month study tour in India, a very talented and notwithstanding her short life already a much accomplished curator of our Museum. She studied the Tibetan and Sanskrit languages and the art history of East Asia at the philosophical faculty of the Loránd Eötvös University in Budapest, to become what she intended to be, an oriental-museologist. After serving a year as assistant in the Lajos Kossuth Museum at Cegléd, she was appointed to the Indian and South-East Asian Section of our Museum in Sep­tember 1956 and when Dr. Ervin Baktay retired in 1959, she became the cura­tor of this section.
