exhibition Eastern Asiatic Bronzes and Woodblock-prints in the János Damjanich Museum at Szolnok in October 1963. Besides attending her department, she was also in charge of our Collection of Photographs. Her literary activities included papers on Indian and Nepalese art, translation of Indian literature, notes supplemented to the translations of others. She worked for three years time on the Sanskrit translation of Selected Parts of the Mahabharata into Hungarian, generally in the hours of dawn to be able to attend her duties in the Museum too. This book which was published posthumously may be regarded as her main oeuvre. During her study tour in India she concentrated on the development of Indian modern painting, besides this she visited the important museums and art monuments. She intended to prepare the publication of our collection of Tibetan paintings. Her short life was dedicated to her vocation. Her health was finally undermined by overworking and after a break-down even the most conscientious medical treatment was doomed to failure. We have lost in her a talented specialist and a dear and kind colleague.
