Kora római védmű és késő avar kori telep kutatása a canabae északi előterében (Budai Balogh Tibor)

(Az őskori emlékek konzulense Szilas Gábor volt.) Utóbbiakat a gödörházak számára előnyős, jó vízelvezető képességű, homokos altalajba ásták le. Hozzájuk kapcsolható cölöplvukakat egyáltalán nein találtunk, így egykori felépítményük rekonstruálásához nem rendelkezünk megfelelő információval. A házakban nem észleltük tüzelőhely maradványát, vagy átégett foltként megmaradt nyomát. Valószínűleg a lelőhely őskori fázisához tartozott az a baloldalára fektetett, kelet-nyugati tájolású csontváz is, amely a buszpálvaudvar melletti sáv déli részén került elő. Sajnálatos, hogy deréktól lefelé cső részének a leendő áruház rézsűfala alatt kellett maradnia. A sír feltárható részéből lelet nem került elő. A kora római katonai objektum védművei és bizonyos járószint alatti konstrukciós elemei már a korábbi ásatások során előkerültek. (ZSIDI 1998, 69-71; ZSIDI 2000, 67-70; ZSIDI 2001, 60-62) Altogether 66 features were found at two sites. Only three of these proved to be modern pits. The earliest period, the Late Bronze Age (Urnfield culture) was represented by a number of small, elliptical pits and semi-subterranean houses. (Gábor Szilas supervised the excavation of the prehistoric remains.) The latter features were dug into the sandy ground, which offers favourable conditions for semi-subterranean houses with its excellent drainage properties. Ee could not find postholcs linked with them, so there is no information to help in reconstructing the superstructures. We did not observe remains of ovens or burnt discolourations suggesting firing places. The east-west oriented skeleton laying on its left side probably belonged to the prehistoric phase of the site. It was found in the southern part of the zone next to the bus station. Regrettably, the skeleton had to be left from the waist down under the bevelled wall of the future store. The unearthed part of the grave did not contain finds.
