Feltárások a vízivárosi castellumtól északra (H. Kérdő Katalin - Végh András)
a Ganz gyári létesítmények (épületfalak, gépalapozások, kemencék), illetve magának a feltöltésnek felső része is néhol a Ganz gyár hulladékát, salakját tartalmazta. Több újkori pince szintén nagyrészt ebbe a feltöltésbe mélyedt, de néhol a mélyebben fekvő rétegeket is megbolygatta. Az első pince a Ganz utca 14. keleti szélén, a telekhatár mellett helyezkedett cl, a második ugyanennek a teleknek a nyugati szélén hosszan húzódott végig a telek mélységében. A telek hátsó részén, e két pince között egy harmadik, kéthelyiséges pincét találtunk. A Ganz utca 12. keleti szélén, a telek középső részén ép boltozatú, igen mély újkori pince került elő. A pincék nagy része a Ganz gyárat megelőző időszakból származik, polgárházak maradványai. Az említett újkori feltöltés alsó, jelentős része a török kort közvetlenül követő időszakból, a 17-18. század fordulójáról származik. Innen került elő egy jelentős kályhacsempelelet, feltehetően egv szemétre vetett kályha maradványai. Az újkori feltöltés alján tions of the Ganz factory were built into this fill (walls of buildings, foundations for machines and kilns). At a few spots, the upper part of the fill itself contained the debris and the dross from the Ganz factory. Several modern cellars were also dug into this modern fill, although these sometimes disturbed the deeper layers as well. The first cellar was found at the eastern edge of lot 14 Ganz Street while the second one extended all along the western edge of the same lot. In the back of the lot, a third cellar with two rooms was found between the two above-mentioned cellars. A very deep modern cellar with an intact dome was found in the central part of the eastern edge of lot 12 on Ganz Street. Most of the cellars were built before the time of the Ganz factoryand had belonged to town houses. The lower, thick part of the modern fill came from the turn of the 17 th-18 fl1 centuries, the period following the Turkish occupation. A significant stove tile find was recovered here, probably from a discarded heating stove.
