2. Néhány újabb sír az aquincumi katonaváros nyugati temetőjéből (Hable Tibor)

az ásató szerint, az északi ág már a Bécsi út 54. alatt is előkerült. (1. kép: 13, lásd még BERTIN 1999, 21.; MÁRITY 1982, 182-197.) Ilyen előzmények ismeretében nem volt váratlan fejlemény, hogy az ásatási idő nagy részét az újkori beépítettség nyomainak feltárása töltötte ki. Az újkori falak (2. kép: ÍJ, gödrök (2) és egyéb objektumok (verem: 3, füstölőverem: 4) pontosabb meghatározására és datálása e helyütt nem vállalkozhatunk. Két, vagy három építési periódus is elkülöníthető (5) a kötőanyag, falazási technikák és tájolási eltérések alapján. Néhány rézkrajcár is tanúsítja (rengeteg cserép, üveg és fémlelet mellett), hogy a területen már a 18. században eleven mindennapi élet zajlott, és nyilván már ekkor is sok római kori sír elpusztult az építkezések miatt. Egyetlen római kori kőemlékünk, egy sírkő peremtöredéke, leveles, indás kcretmotívummal, az 1. számmal jelölt melléképület alapozásából került elő. Bár az udvar északkeleti negyedében mai napig jó állapotban látható egy kikövezett, mély kút, a 19. században talált és Rómer által említett szarkofágra, vagy annak pontosabb lelőhelyére semmilyen egyéb jel nem utalt. Szórványosan jelentkező, római kori leletek csupán az ásatás utolsó hetében kerültek elő, kizárólag a (KUZSINSZKY 1898, 140. and 1908, 90.). Kuzsinszky also reported on a statue of a lion from the lot (KUZSINSZKY 1908, 94. and 95., Fig. 29). Clay pipes were found during gardening on lot 50 Bécsi Road in the wider neighborhood of the lot. (Fig. 1: 15) A short rescue excavation confirmed that the finds belonged to a Roman period water well (distributor) and a water conduit running north to south, which connected to the well from the south (NÉMETH 1969, 432-477). At that time, the eastern branch and the eastern and northern stretches of the water conduit could not be unearthed although the archaeologist noted that the northern stretch had been unearthed on lot 54 Bécsi Road (Fig. J: 13 see also BERTIN 1999, 21. and MÁRITY 1982, 182-197.). After such antecedents, it was not surprising that the uncovering of modern constructions took up most of the excavation time. The accurate identification and dating of the modern walls (Fig. 2: 1), pits (2) and other features (storage pit: 3, smoking pit: 4) is not the task of the present report.
