SZÁM. of the Contracting Parties may except from the residence of Consuls such particular places as either may think fit to be excepted, it being understood that neither Party will impose any restriction which is not common in the country to all nations. Article XV. The Diplomatic Agents, Consuls, GreneralConsuls, Vice-Consuls and Consular-Agents of Austria-Hungary in the Hawaiian Islands, shall enjoy all the rights, privileges, immunities and exemptions enjoyed by the Diplomatic Agents, Consuls, Vice-Consuls and Consular-Agents of the same rank belonking to the most favored nation, and the same shall be the position in Austria-Hungary of the Hawaiian Diplomatic Agents, Consuls, General-Consuls, Vice-Consuls and Consular-A gents. Article XVI. The Consuls, Vice-Consuls and ConsularAgents of either the Contracting Parties residing within the territory of the other, may require the assistance of the local authorities for the search, arrest, detention and imprisonment of the deserters from the ships of war or merchant vessels of their country. For this purpose they shall apply to the competent local authorities in writing, proving by the exhibition of the Crew List or other official document, that the persons named formed a part of the ship's crew, and this reclamation being there substantiated, the surrender shall not be refused. All aid and assistance shall be given for the discovery and arrest of such deserters, who shall be detained in the prisons of the country at the request and cost of those who shall claim them until they may be restored to the vessel to which they belonged, or sent back to their own country. If however they shall not be restored to the vessel from which they deserted or sent back to their own country within six months from the day of arrest, or if the party causing such arrest and imprisonment shall not defray the expenses thereof, the deserter may be set at liberty and shall not be arrested thereafter for the same cause. ban áll bizonyos helyeket, melyekre nézve ezt jónak látja, olyanok gyanánt jelölni meg, melyek consul székhelyei nem lehetnek, magától értetődvén, hogy egyik, szerződő fél sem fog olyan megszorítást szabni, mely azon országban valamennyi nemzetre ki nem terjedne. XV. czikk. Az osztrák-magyar monarchia diplomatiai ügynökei, főconsulai, consulai, alconsulai és consulsági ügynökei a hawaii szigeteken mindazon jogokat, szabadalmakat, kiváltságokat és vámmentességeket fogják élvezni, melyeket a legnagyobb kedvezésben részesülő nemzet hasonrangu diplomatiai ügynökei, consulai, alconsulai és consulsági ügynökei élveznek, ugyanaz áll az osztrák-magyar monarchiában a hawaii diplomatiai ügynökökre, föconsulokra, consulokra, alconsulokra és consulsági ügynökökre nézve. XVI. czikk. Mindkét szerződő fél consulai, alconsulai és consulsági ügynökei, kik a másik fél területén székelnek, a nemzetükbeli hadi- és kereskedelmi hajók szökevényeinek felkeresése, elfogatása, letartóztatása és bebörtönöztetése végeit a helyhatóságokat segélynyújtásra megkereshetik. E végre írásban kell hogy folyamodjanak az illetékes helyi hatósághoz, a legénységi lajstrom vagy más hiteles okmányok bemutatása által tartozván kimutatni azt, hogy a keresett egyének valóban az illető hajó legénységéhez tartoznak és az ily módon igazolt megkeresésre a kiszolgáltatás meg nem tagadható. Ily szökevények felfedezésére és elfogatására minden kitelhető támogatás és segély fog nyújtatni és azon fél megkeresésére és költségén, mely kiszolgáltatásukat kéri, az ország börtöneiben mindaddig letartóztatandók, mig azon hajónak, melyhez tartoznak, vissza nem szolgáltathatók vagy hazájukba vissza nem küldhetők. Ha azonban elfogatásuk napjától számítandó hat hónap lefolyta alatt a hajónak, melyről elszöktek, át nem szolgáltattak, vagy hazájukba vissza nem küldettek, vagy ha azon fél, kinek megkeresésére az elfogatás és letartóztatás történt, a költségeket lefizetni elmulasztja, a szökevény szabad lábra fog
