Hungarian translation and the section is conluded with a glossary of the words contained in the texts. Compared with the previous two volumes of the Schmidt Eva könyvtár the present volume is more pleasing to the eye than its predecessors, with a print easier to read. There are few typographical errors (such as in the conjugation of the verb %äns- 'to write' in the table on page 53). In conclusion, it can be said that Fejes and Sipos were quite correct in estimating the worth of this grammar and in their conclusion that it was worthy of republication with the necessary comments and corrections. Schmidt's grammar, when read and used in the context of the entire volume, is a valuable contribution to the study of the Khanti language in the West. The grammar, together with the Sherkal texts and glossary, form a chrestomathy which can be put to good use in the classroom and will hopefully help to provide the impetus and motivation necessary for further work and research on this and related dialects. Míg a sorozat korábbi számai főként a finn, a magyar és az észt kultúra egyes területeire koncentrálnak, és viszonylag kevés közöttük a kifejezetten nyelvészeti témájú kiadvány, Perrot kötete szinte kizárólag nyelvészeti, a kis uráli nyelvekre is alaposan kitekintő tanulmányokat tartalmaz. Már a mű címlapján látható fénykép1 - amely egy hanti asszonyt és egy hanti kislányt ábrázol hagyományos téli viseletben - is arra utal, hogy a kis uráli nyelvek fontos helyet kapnak a kötet dolgozataiban. „Rares sont dans les publications francaises les ouvrages consacrés aux langues de la famille dite ouralienne", azaz kevés francia kiadvány jelenik meg Ezúton szeretnék köszönetet mondani Csepregi Mártának és Fejes Lászlónak recenzióm írása során adott tanácsaikért, javaslataikért. 1 A fényképet Csepregi Márta készítette.
