V. EXPLANATION OF CONCEPTS

— with individual heating. A dwelling without comforts has at least o — a living-room of a floor-space over 12 m and a place for cooking and a flush toilet (latrine) outside the dwelling, — individual heating, — available water. A temporary (emergancy) accommodation cannot be assigned to any of the above levels of comfort but has at least one place 2 — of a floor-space over 6 m , — with a glazed window or a door, — which can be heated — where the use of a flush toilet (latrine) and water are available. Other lodgings are places, group of places used as dwellings which do not even meet the demands set up with regard to a temporary accommodation and which, if consisting of a single place, have a floor­2 space of at least 4 m , and if consisting of several places, of which one being used alsó as a room, the 2 2 floor-space of the latter is at least 4 m and not more than 6 m . The assignment of these lodgings is not affected by the existing facilities and by the other things they are provided with. FACILITIES The data published always contain only the facilities inside the dwelling. A dwelling supplied with water from watermains is one in which water is obtained through a tap, installed in one of the places of the dwelling, of water pipes (of public utility, respectively, of public utility type) connected with the network of the waterworks. A dwelling has a domestic water system if the water pipe leads the water of the well, which is generally on the ground-plot, courtyard belonging to the building, to the tap in the dwelling. A dwelling is supplied with hot water if it receives the hot running water necessary for washing and other household uses from a long-distance transmission pipe, a central boiler or from any individual (local) water heater. A dwelling is supplied with piped gas if it gets the gas from the municipal gas system, natural gas piper or from a local (e.g. factory) system of gas pipes. A dwelling is supplied with cylinder gas if its inhabitants use propane-butane gas (PB) filled in cylinder for the household. A dwelling is supplied with community canal if it is connected with the sewage system of public utility, respectively, of public utility type. A dwelling is supplied with domestic canal if the sewage water is led through an underground drain pipe to a closed sewage storage tank, to a siccator (drain tank) on the groundplot of the building or to somé other place. A dwelling is supplied with a flush toilet if, either in a separate place or in the bathroom inside the dwelling, it has a flush toilet connected with the community or domestic canal. 271
