1970 HUNGARIAN CENSUS OF POPULATION Information on the data collection and processing (1977)

INTRODUCTION

- Electronic data processing. - The automatic correction of errors performed on electronic computers. - The working out of data concerning households, families and buildings by means of using the information on inhabitants and dwellings. - The publication of the census results of the districts, considering also the requirements of the regional planning activity. - The testing for the precision of the data collected by means of a post-enumeration sample survey. These methodological innovations render the scrutinizing and the drawing of conclusions highly justified. Besides, the summing up of the methodological problems connected with the census of 1970 seems also needful, considering the preparatory work connected with the censuses to take place in the future. The text is completed in the Annex by the recapitulation of the designs, tables and combinations of processed data and other documents. Finally, the main results of the testing for the accuracy of the census data (performed after the conclusion of the operations connected with the census) are presented. 6
