I. THE COMPREHENSIVE REWIEV OF THE DATA COLLECTION AND PROCESSING - 4. Notions applied with the population census

Groups according to the size of flats The grouping according to the total number of rooms has been executed, without any consideration of the floor-space of the rooms, on the basis of the rooms and "half-rooms". (For instance, a flat consisting of a room and two "half-rooms" , was considered a three-roomed flat. ) In the case of grouping according to the "half-rooms", the flats have been classified by means of including of the "half-rooms" taken separately; under "half-room" a locality is meant the floor-space of which is of 4 - 12 m^ (flats having one, one and a half, two, two and a half rooms etc. ) If the flat has more than one half-room, two half-rooms are taken as one, according to this classification. (For instance a flat having a room and two half-rooms is considered two-rooms flat. ) o Room : a locality with natural lighting, provided with door, having 4 m floor-space at least, serving for sleeping or for daily stay (bedroom, parlour, dining-room, drawing-room, spare-room, children's room etc. ) The hall without natural lighting - independently of its floor-space - is considered "other" locality. "Half-room" : from among the rooms, a room having 4-12 m^ floor-space. (The alcove without door cannot be considered a separate room, and its floor-space is regarded as a part of the room connected with it. ) 35
