I. THE COMPREHENSIVE REWIEV OF THE DATA COLLECTION AND PROCESSING - 3. The programme of the census

In order to ensure the uniformity, for the filling in of the forms of both the full-scale and the representative registration, a leaflet entitled "instructions for the census-takers and supervisors' ha been used. b/ THE FORMS USED FOR THE CENSUS The inquiry forms used are shown in the documentational part of this volume, in the Annex no. 2. They are briefly reviewed in the following. Registration forms of the dwelling (Housing questionnaire, formula A) The registration form printed in green was filled in the 75 per cent of the census districts and comprised the data of each dwelling or dwelling unit to be found in the Directory. The number of questions was 17, altogether with the complementary questions it amounted to 37. Its main parts are: - data concerning the building - data concerning the dwelling - data concerning the individuals registered in the dwelling. The part entitled "The data of the building" puts questions referring to the destination, height, walling of the building and, in the case of buildings having mud-walls, further questions concerning the foundations as well as the number of the dwellings and dwelling units to be found therein, were put. The part entitled "Data concerning the dwelling" consists of three parts, namely: a/ General data b/ Number of localities c/ Equipment. Among the general data the destination, the character of property, the title of use and the year of the construction has been questioned. In the table entitled "The number of localities" the respective parts of the dwelling had to be enumerated. Among the questions referring to the equipment, answers had to be given as to the supply with electricity, drinking-water, gas, type and location of the WC (lavatory) as well as to the sewing system. Registration form of the dwellings (Housing questionnaire, formula B) The registration form of dwellings printed in brown has been used in 25 per cent of the census districts, for all dwellings and dwelling units included to the Directory. The number of questions amounted to 31, with the complementary questions to 55. The material - for the sake of uniformity includes all questions which are put on questionaries printed in green. Its main parts are conform to the respective parts of the formula A. Several questions are, nevertheless, of essentially larger content. 25
