VASILE NETEA AND THE FOLKLORE OF THE UPPER MURES VALLEY

The life of the great scholar Vasile Netea was entirely devoted to study and intellectual work. Among his preoccupations one can find Romanian folklore, and even more the scholar writes and praises Mures Valley folklore, emphasizing its representatives. One can conclude that between Vasilea Netea and Romanian village, Romanian folklore and everything that expresses Romanian spirit, there was a strong and solid tie which denotes the fact that this scholar from Deda Muresului, with humble origins from a family of Romanian peasants was extremely connected to the Romanian ancestral land its traditions and customs which have enchanted his soul all his life. The Superior Mures Valley occupied an important place in his soul. From here he rose to the peaks of Romanian society but he never forgot where he left from, he has always looked back towards those who were dear to him, his parents, friends and relatives, he himself being very glad that he was born Romanian, Orthodox Christian on these beautiful and amazing Mures Valley lands which are God blessed, being protected during centuries.
