Sala; Rescue excavations on the Bypass of Nyíregyháza. The Archaeological Discoveries from the Bronze Age at “Úr-Csere” (26th and 33rd Lh) This study presents the discoveries from the Bronze Age from the summer of 2004 excavated on the bypass of Nyíregyháza, at “Úr-Csere”. The sites were noted with 26th and 33rd indicatives. In total, there were 153 complexes discovered from the Bronze Age. Ceramic fragments from the Early Bronze Age were discovered only in secondary position, in complexes from the Late Bronze Age or Sarmatian period. Some fragments from a bowl with leg and ornament on the inside are typical for the Makó Culture (pi. II/a-b, 2). The discoveries named “the Sanisläu / Szaniszló group” are placed in a later period of the Early Bronze Age from the Upper Tisa region with pottery ornamented with small printed triangles bordering incised lines, (pl. II/3). Some fragments decorated with ribs fascicles (pl. II/4-5) and one with textile decoration belongs to this period, as well. Late Bronze Age discoveries are much more numerous and diversified than the earlier ones. We can mention the 200 complexes, a ditch from the 26th site, having 120- 125 m length, with aperture between 2.5-5.5 m and maximal depth of 2 m. Big pieces of adobe and burn were also found, coming from a possible palisade which was burnt and after that it crashed in the ditch. We don’t exclude the possibility that this groove was used for another practical service, necessary in a swampy area. From the examined Late Bronze Age features, only in one case could be defined as a dwelling. It was the no. 281 feature, having a rectangular form slightly deepened from the level. All the others complexes from this period are pits, having cylindrical form or the shape of a truncated cone, with the aperture smaller and the bottom larger. MARIS1 A XXIX, p.57-85
