The debutants and their escorts enter the dinner dance hall and are introduced The debutants and their escorts open the dance the traditional way with the walz and csárdás an active participant. A n c i k a 's grandson, as a third generation member, is at this Cafe Budapest Ball as an escort for a debutant. We also greet the Füzesi family with joy: Dr. István Füzesi once, some years back, was also an escort. Now their daughter, Sara, a third generation member, is a debutante. At this dinner dance we are honored by the presence of His Excellency, Dr. László Molnár, ambassador and consul general of Hungary, his wife, Katalin, and their daughter Fruzsina. Fruzsina, a temporary American- Hungarian, was participating as a debutante. Every year in December, the Pannónia Club distributes financial assistance to students in our area who are entering college. The most recent recipients were András Bálint and Melissa Borkő. In the future we are Fruzsina Molnár and Byron Crump planning to sponsor some of our youth for summer camps. We considered either Sárospatak, Hungary, or some of the youth camps in the U.S. where the Hungarian culture and traditions are promoted. We are grateful for the donations given by our patrons to support these worthy causes. We also thank our present guests who came to enjoy make this evening joyful to everybody attending. I would also like to thank the Officers, Board of Directors and other Club members who gave time and effort to organize this evening. Among these, I would like to make a special thanks to the MC of this evening, Dr. Balázs Somogyi. He has been offering his help every year to make the Debutant Ball a success. With this I wish everybody a very cheerful and a very pleasant evening! ” Following, the soft spoken Zita Balogh, Ball Chairman, took the helm, and with her permission the ball was officially opened. Each debutant and escort was introduced as they walked down the aile. They started the dance with the traditional waltz and csárdás, and were joined by others. The Debutantes at this Cafe Budapest Ball were: Krisztina Aranyi, Sara Füzesi, Timea Mate, Fruzsina Molnár, Katalin Pankotai, and Jessica Zakhar. Alexandra Matolcsy from the Youth Committee also joined them. We also have to mention the young men who were escorting the lovely young ladies. They were: Byroné Crump, Joseph Kiss, Michael Pasquale, Alexander Richeter, Robert Venczel, and John Lynch. These young people not only took advantage of the dance floor, but the warmed the hearts of the parents and of the other age groups too. The music was very good, opened up many possibilities for the youngsters to dance their way and also brought back memories to those who prefer the different speeds of the csárdás. At a later hour Balazs Somogyi, a few ladies and ticket selling debutantes put on the show of the raffle. Despite the many worthy prizes the excitement was for István Varga’s painting depicting a Hungarian scene. It was a wonderful Ball and all participants are looking forward to next year. Hope to see you all there. Ancika Kiss, the oldest member of the Club with Claudia Margitay-Balogh One of the dinner tables seating a group of young dancers
