A MAGYAR HÍRNÖK 1959. ÁPRILIS 9 VALAMIKOR.., (KÉT ESTE) A kapu előtti lócán ülünk este. A csorda már hazahajtott. Meg is fejtek azóta már. A maglók is ropogtatják kukoricájukat. Csönd hasal a fehérházas kis falura. Neszes, beszédes csönd. A tücskök millió hada teszi mélységessé. Láthatatlan apró bogárkák halk zsolozsmája járul hozzá. A falüvégről békák brekegése hangzik. Csendesen kel a hold. Mélázva hallgatnak a mérges komondorok. Susogva hajlongatja lombos ágait a vén eperfa. Szénaillat s jószágszag terjeng az istállók felől. — Adjon Isten! — Adjon! — Ide mé}t a felszögre. Egy kis leveskét viszek a komaasszonynak. Aszondik, kirázta a hideg. Jójcakát. A harmadik porta előtt már VIRÁGOT vírágházbó) vegyen I LINCOLN GREENHOUSES Dover Ave. — Kilmer 5-7600 New Brunewick, N. J. Kari Neugebauer. túl. homályba vész a fiatalasszony siető alakja. — Jóestét adjon az Úristen! — Adjon! — Ide mék a sógorhói egy kis pipaszóra. Mondok, hosszú már az est illen vénembörnek. Kettősbe jobban Ízlik a pipa. No, Isten áldja! Hova szaladsz már no? Igön kő a petróleum világot gyújtani. Kifogyott. A fene bele . . . — Ne káromkodj te . . . — Nem is . . . — Hát a fene bele? — A nem káromkodás. A tisztelendő ur mondta délután, mikó a szomszéd disznója áttört a kertyibe . . . Szaladok! — Szaladj. M Kint düllesztjük az utcakeritést. A csendet csak az autók zavarják. Rég elültek a verebek s hidegen világit az utcai villany. A kis “pléz” éjjelhez készül. A nappaliak már hazamentek. Az éjfélre menő munkások még otthon vannak. Néptelen az utca. Az aszfalton cipősarok ko-GYÁSZJELENTÉS Mélységes fájdalommal jelentjük a szerető jó feleség, édesanya, nagyanya és rokon, a Nyirád Zala-megyei születésű és Amerikába 1912- ben kivándorolt . Kellemetlen, széngázszagos a levegő. — Halló! — Halló! Tovakopog a magassarkos cipőjű leány. Egy perc múlva már elnyeli a sötét. —Halló! — Halló! Idősebb férfi megy. Nem mondja, hová. — Halló! — Halló! Tovább halad a fiatalember. Ha szippant cigarettájából, messziről is halvány fényben látszik a feje körvonala. — Halló, halló! — Halló! Fiatalasszony siet. Ki tudja, hova? Az is lehet, hogy haza. — Halló! — Halló! Két suttogó gyerek olvad bele a lassan sűrűsödő ködbe. . . . . . , — ÖKEGAMERIKÁS Füry Lajos legújabb regénye: “FORGÓSZÉL” A szabadföldi magyar könyvpiac keresett újdonsága Füry Lajos uj regénye, a “Forgószél.” A könyv $3.50-ért (fűzve) beszerezhető lapunk könyvosztályán.
