GYÜLEKEZETI HÍREK: Okt. 17-én őszi hálaadó istentisztelet és ujbori úrvacsoraosztást gyakorolt a 11-ik utcai new yorki gyülekezet. Az ünnepi istentiszteleten néhai Szilágyi Istvánná, Fagyas József, Jackó Istvánná, Jackó István emlékezete templomi kegyeletben részesült. Okt. 24-én d. e. 11 órakor istentisztelet, az istentisztelet után nőegyleti gyűlés lesz a gyülekezetben. Okt. 31-én d. u. 4 órakor a 11-ik utcai egyház a new yorki, new jerseyi, connecticuti magyar ref. egyházakkal a 92-ik utcán és a Park Avenuen levő Brick presbyteriánus templomban közös reformációi emlékünnepélyt tart. Mrs. Sophie Szert volt Pittsburgh-i lakos két leányával new yorki jackson heightsi lakos lett és két leányával istentiszteletet gyakorolt a 11-ik utcai templomban. Milák Kató és férje Frank Lewis örömmel jelentik első leánykájuk Suzanne Elizabeth születését. Mrs. Fiedler Julia tagságidijat és az árvaházra jótékonysági adományt, Szilágyi István és cs. neje emlékezetére adományt adott az egyháznak. A 2 dolláros vacsorán nemcsak kitűnő ételeket fog adni az egyház a kedves vendégeknek, de szórakoztatásukra uj zenekart is zserepeltet. A “MARIKA” menyasszonyi ruha és kelengye divatszalon modern, szép helyiségben nyitott meg a közelmúltban Highland Parkon, a 212 Raritan Ave. alatt, a régi helyen. Messze vidékekről jönnek ide a menyaszszonyok és koszorúslányok ruhát, öltözetet készítetni a nagy napra, mert a “Marika” divatszalon neve és munkája ma már valóságos fogalom! OLASZ MOZICSILLAG Silvana Mangano világhírű olasz filmcsillag, a Bitter Rice” és más nagysikerű filmek főszereplője. Vörös kémek az iráni olajmezőkön Iráni kormánykörök kijelentése szerint hatalmas kémszervezetet fedeztek fel az országban, amely országszerte rendezendő zavargással és főleg az olajmezőkön való szabotálással akarta meg akadályozni a nyugattal kötött olaj szerződést. A letartóztatások folytatódnak, főleg a hadsereg tisztikara körében, ahol 435 tisztet fosztottak meg rangjától és helyezték letartóztatásba, miután bebizonyosodott, hogy idegen hatalom javára kémkednek és az ország kárára törekedtek.
