Page 2 MAGYAR HERALD 3rd QUARTER, 1989 gether we can achive a great deal for which our children and grand children will be proud — and at the same time we can and should all have some fun doing it. Words followed by action The inaugural words were delivered on our May 12th meeting of our Club. Our new president — indeed — is a man of action. Without any delay he mailed out the following letter accompanied by a well prepared questionaire in the posession of all of us: (Let us all return the form as promtly as possible!) Dear Fellow American-Hungarian, You and other American-Hungarian individuals and organizations expressed the need to work together towards the foundation and establishment of a permanent Hungarian Community Center. Such a center would primarily help to promote and preserve our Hungarian cultural heritage and especially serve those living in the N.E. Ohio area. We think the time is now to organize a Hungarian Center Foundation Board, consisting of very capable American-Hungarian leaders and problem solvers, to creatively and innovatively work towards the establishment of a vibrant Hungarian Community Center including the following tasks: a) identify and assess the most attractive and doable options, b) select the most viable option in close consultation with supporting individuals and organizations, c) develop a detailed strategic plan for fund raising, acquisition and operation, d) manage the implementation phases of the strategic plan. As of now, the board members are: Ernest Hudak, William Köteles, Louis Loiczly, Laszlo Molnár, and Ernest Toth. We are planning to add four more board members. Since we, as American-Hungarian individuals and officers of various organizations, want to develop this important project based on your response to the attached questionnaire, please mail it back to us as soon as you can. Endre Ady: To My Countrymen in America New Members of Our Club Four applications for membership were received and approved by the Board. They are: Dr. Stephen Francis Szabo, Fred Stephen Szabo, Paul Stephen Szabo, the three sons of the Editor of Magyar Herald. The fourth: Robert Charles Szabo. My countrymen, you whom our common curse Has taken from us and has rent afar, Perhaps too often in your thoughts we are. Ah, nathless, Magyar life is overwhelmed, And from the deluge they alone emerge Whom distant shores from present peril urge. You far-off Magyars, how I envy you! At home already all by us is lost; You, happy folk, are far from ruin tossed.---------------------------—————--------—----------— ---------------------------------------------------•-A Guide To Hungarian Radio Programs WBBW - 1240 AM — Youngstown.
