10. oldal MAGYAR EGYHÁZ Annual Meeting of the American Hungarian Reformed Ministerial Association The American Hungarian Reformed Ministerial Association held its annual meeting once again at the Bethlen Home’s Conference Center in Ligonier, PA on Labor Day Weekend. Church officials, elders, ministers, guests of the American Hungarian Ministerial Association at the Bethlen Home, Ligonier,PA Presbyters and ministers worshipped together joyfully with the celebration of the Lord’s Supper on Monday morning. We all enjoyed the warm hospitality of the Bethlen Home at the delicious lunch they prepared for us. As always we are grateful for their caring and love. The highlight of the afternoon was the lecture of our honored guest from Debrecen, Hungary, the Rev. Dr. Botond Gaál, Profssor. His lecture was titled: A Magyar Református Lelkipásztor a Tudás Évszázadában. Professor Gaál was accompanied by his wife Dr. Maria Czeglédy Gaál. We are grateful for the meaningful and fascinating lecture and their fellowship with us. The second day began with a meaningful commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the 1956 revolution in Hungary. All of our participants in this presentation had first hand experience in the events and circumstances of the revolution. Moderated by the Rt. Rev. Alexander Forro, who was also our first speaker, in this session the Rt. Rev. Louis Medgyesi, Rev. Charles Olah and Mr. George Dózsa gave us a thorough and vivid description of how the course of history in Hungary was shaped by the courage, sacrifice and innate desire for freedom of all who were there in Budapest and all over the country contributing to freedom in Hungary. Since the Rev. Alexander Jalso was not able to be present with us his memories and experiences were read to us by Rev. Leslie Martin. The Rev. Dr. Imre Bertalan moderated the next part of the day and provided us with a comprehensive overview of the life and ministries of the Bethlen Communities. Rev. Imre A. Bertalan, Exec. Director, Michael Walker Administrator and Rev. Ilona Komjáthy shared with us the countless blessings of the ministry, the daily challenges, our ethical responsibilities and called pastors and congregations to provide continuing prayer support and active participation in the life of the Bethlen Home with our donations as well. We are grateful to God that we were able to worship and rejoice in his presence and share this time with one another. Rev. Frank Varga, President of AHRMA A KIRÁLY! Mondjátok meg Sión leányának: Imhol jő néked a te királyod, alázatosan és szamáron ülve, és teherhordozó szamárnak vemhén. (Máté. 21,5) Keresztyén testvéreim! A királyságról, a királykérdésről a történelem folyamán nagyon sok szó esett. Azt is mondhatjuk, hogy a királyság egyike volt azoknak az intézményeknek amelyek leginkább befolyásolták az emberi társadalom fejlődését. Egyes népek a történelem folyamán mindent megtettek, hogy a királyságot mint intézményt megszüntessék. Példa erre az 1917-es nagy októberi forradalom, minek következtében - mint ahogy mindannyian tudjuk - brutális módon meggyilkolták az orosz cári családot. Más népek megtartották ugyan a királyságot mint intézményt, de mind politikai, mind társadalmi, mind katonai hatalmától megfosztották. Példa erre a svéd királyság, vagy az angol királyság. És vannak népek melyek életében a királyság meg mindig fontos szerepet tölt be, a királynak még mindig fontos szerepe van népe életében. Láthatjuk tehát, hogy vannak különböző típusú királyságok, melyek többé vagy kevésbé még ma is befolyásolják egy nép életét. Van azonban egy király aki koroktól és időktől függetlenül mindig nagyon nagy szerepet tölt be az emberek életében. És nemcsak egyik vagy másik nép életében, hanem az egész emberiség életében, minden korban és minden időben. Úgy is mondhatjuk, hogy az egész emberiségnek, koroktól és időktől függetlenül volt, van és lesz egy örökkévaló királya. Ez a király Jézus Krisztus. Ez a király a te királyod, az én királyom, minden népnek, nemzetnek királya, kortól, nyelvtől, meggyőződéstől függetlenül. ’’Imhol jön néked a te királyod”- halljuk a felolvasott Igéből. És most engedjétek meg, hogy ez Ige kapcsán néhány kérdést és gondolatot intézzek hozzátok. 1. Az első kérdésem, mi várjuk-e királyunkat? Mert a földi királyokat várni szokás. Egy földi király hetekkel, néha hónapokkal előtte bejelenti érkezését, elküldi követeit. Egy földi király fogadására nagy pompával és ceremóniával szoktak az emberek készülni. A régebbi korokban megépítették a diadalíveket, a nép kivonult, hogy üdvözölje a királyt, mindenki hódolt előtte. A mai világban sincs sokkal másképp, ma is nagy fogadásokat szerveznek, magasrangú tárgyalásokat
