14. oldal MAGYAR EGYHÁZ Október 7-én a Női Kör rendezésében tartottuk immár hagyományossá vált „Szüreti mulatságunkat”, melyre közelről és távolról szép sereg érdeklődő gyűlt össze. A szórakozáshoz a zenét Cigány Jóska és zenekara szolgáltatta. Statisztikai adatainkból: Keresztelők: augusztus 6-án Mann Anthony Craig, Mann Anthony és neje gyermekét kereszteltük; augusztus 20-án Anderson Derek Scott, Aderson Scott és neje gyermekét kereszteltük; október 15-én Asbley Nicole Pachucki, Pachucki Wayne és neje gyermekét fogadtuk be Krisztus egyetemes anyaszentegyházába. Gratulálunk az újszülött ifjú életekhez, és Isten gondviselő kegyelmét kérjük életükre. Házasságkötés: Augusztus 19-én Rhodes Thomas és Olszewski Gail esküdtek házasságot egymásnak gyülekezeti közösségünkben. Isten vezesse életútján az ifjú párt. Temetések: Tóth Lajos testvérünk életének 75. esztendejében adta vissza lelkét az Úrnak. Temetése, nagy részvét mellett, szeptember 9-én volt. Bodnár Zsófia életének 97-ik esztendejében tért örök nyugvóra; temetése szeptember 11-én volt nagy részvét mellett templomunkból. Banyacski József testvérünk 61 éves korában tért az Úrhoz; temetése szeptember 14-én volt nagy részvét mellett templomunkból. Isten küldjön vigasztalást a megszomorodott szívekhez és erősítse meg benne vetett bizalmunkat a viszontlátás áldott hitében. Az úrvacsorái kenyeret és bort dr. Schilling András ellenőr adományozta. Augusztus 13-án évi nagy piknikünket rendeztük meg a templomkertben. Közreműködött a „Szabadkai Duó” magyar zenészek. Szeptember 10-én a Női Kör közebédet rendezett a gyülekezeti teremben. ROSETON, NY Augusztus 6-án istentiszteletet tartottunk Új Kenyérért hálaadó úrvacsoraosztással. Az úrvacsorái jegyeket Skolik Józsefné adományozat. PEEKSKILL, NY Augusztus 20-án Új Kenyérért hálaadó istentiszteletet tartottunk úrvacsoraosztással. Az úrvacsorái jegyeket Anderson Alexné pénztáros adományozta. ALLEN PARK, Ml GOD BLESSED US LAST WEEK! In a brief 24 hour visit the Bishop of Debrecen, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Elemer Kocsis, his wife Lenke and the Reformátusok Lapja editor, the Rev. Attila Komlos shared with our Church family a great deal of affirmation and love. Affirmed once again was the membership of our church in the world-wide family of Hungarian Reformed Churches. It has been more than 50 years since the President of the General Synod of the Reformed Church of Hungary has visited the churches in America. It has been more than 60 years since the Bishop has visited the Hungarian Reformed Christians in the Detroit area. Bishop Kocsis brought to our congregation the Hungarian Reformed Church’s greeting and he shared with us the goal that once again there be fellowship among all the Hungarian Reformed people around the world. Future visits were discussed, along with pastoral exchanges and more frequent trips by church members here to visit their Reformed sisters and brothers in Hungary. The Bishop’s visit was a special blessing to the third and fourth generation Hungarians who were now able to better appreciate the old Reformed Church ties of which their elders spoke. Our visitors also brought with them a great deal of love. On a more personal level, Bishop and Mrs. Kocsis shared with us the greetings of the more than 1200 congregations and 800 ministers in the Reformed Church of Hungary. Our church family in return shared with our guests a great deal of warmth and respect and hospitality. On Saturday evening, at a dinner hosted by the Ladies Aid, the greeting of the larger Detroit area Hungarian community were extended to Bishop and Mrs. Kocsis. Our Hungarian dance group performed. Bishop Kocsis sang. Then on Sunday morning, at a combined worship service attended by more than 300 people, Bishop Kocsis delivered a stirring sermon using verses of the 90th Psalm as his text. After church, the congregation welcomed our guests to an informal reception. With us for the weekend in addition to Bishop and Mrs. Kocsis and Rev. Komlos were The Rt. Rev. Dr. and Mrs. Andrew Harsanyi, Bishop of the Hungarian Reformed Church in America and The Rev. Dr. and Mrs. Imre Bertalan, President of the Hungarian Reformed Federation. All four shared in both the dinner and the church service. As Bishop and Mrs. Kocsis and Rev. Komlos left us last Sunday, it was with a great deal of feeling that they bid farewell. On Monday, September 25th, we received a phone call from Rev. Bertalan, at the Hungarian Reformed Federation office. Our three visitors had called to say they arrived home safely, and they asked him to convey once again to our people here, their appreciation and gratitude for the day spent with us. Yes, God blessed us last week! All glory and praise be to Him!
