On the Maundy Thursday night service our senior confirmands were eiiamined in public, found eligible for church membership and confirmed during the combined worship service the next Sunday. On the following Sunday at Pentecost they partook of their first communion, together with the immediate members of their families. The Church Council gave them Bibles engraved with their names, while the Men’s Club surprised them with initialed gifts. The Guild offered refreshments after their confirmation service. The newly confirmed young church members are: Michael Denton, Andrew Gergely, Sharon Janvari, Rose Ann Kutcher and Edward Sadowski. We wish them God speed! There was a successful Estate Sale (that of Louis Toth) in the beginning of June, where a lot of valuable, collectable items were sold. Sunday School ended with a children’s Father’s Day service. Summer worship schedule: from July 7 through September 8, 1985, English at 9:00 a.m., Hungarian services at 10:00 a.m. There will be a Chinese Auction held in September 29th, please donate new items toward it. Weddings: Alex Varga and Joyce Filip on May 11th, and Richard Fletcher and Allyson Lohn on May 26th. May God bless their unions. McKeesport, pa At the writing of this report (May 23, 1985), we are getting ready to the Pentecost celebrations. Holy Communion will be administered at 9:30 a.m. at the English service and at 11:00 a.m. in Hungarian. The new members joined our congregation on May 12th, will have their first holy communion at the 9:30 a.m. service on Pentecost. On June 2nd, we will honor our graduates. Please call Rose Bartos: 664-7674 chairperson of the Graduate Honor Committee if you know graduating members of our church. The ones who are graduating from high school or any higher institutions will be honored. From July 5 to 15, Dean Tamas will visit the congregations of Phoenix, Arizona, Hollywood, CA and Ontario, CA. On July 14th, he will preach at our San Francisco, CA congregation. On July 7th, he will participate at the celebration at our Phoenix, Arizona church. Please pray for the success of his visit. Laymen Sunday with the participation of many elders male and female will be held on July 7. According to our agreement Bill Imler, Campus Minister of the next door Penn State University, commissioned by the Immanuel Presbyterian Church will conduct the English service on July 14. Hungarian services on July.7, and on July 14, will be conducted by Elder Sándor Chomos. In case if there will be need Elder Chomos being a born American citizen can take care of the English services also. Chief Elder John Kontz will be in charge in the absence of the Pastor. 751-2648. HOLY COMMUNION WILL BE CELEBRATED ON AUGUST 4th. English service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Hungarian at 11:00 a.m. We certainly do hope that this report will reach our reader by the time when the main events of our Ladies and other groups will be held: THE INTERNATIONAL VILLAGE. This ethnic event is at the front of our church in the Renzihausen Park. This year will be the 25th Anniversary of the INTERNATIONAL VILLAGE. Every year about a hundred members and friends are working in our church and at the park in preparing and selling Hungarian Foods. One of the groups of the Hungarian Folk Dancers are representing our church at this occasion. On October 6th, World Communion will be celebrated. English service at 9:30 a.m. Hungarian Service: at 11:00 a.m. Our Bishop promised to report and provide pictures in regard to the meeting of the Western Classis of the Hungarian Reformed Church in America. We were represented at this meeting which was held at the Bishop’s church by Dean Tamas, Elder Sándor Chomos, and Zoltán Kun, treasurer of the Classis. Visitors from our church were: Mrs. Denes Tamas and Dani Tamas. The hospitality of the Allen Park church was so wonderful, and the meeting was so peaceful, that we can not find words to say thanks to all of the men and women and also to praise the Lord. THE SIXTIETH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF OUR DENOMINATION WILL BE HELD AT Mc- KEESPORT, PA, 101 University Drive. ON SEPTEMBER 22. MAIN SPEAKERS WILL BE THE RT. REV. BISHOP ABRAHAM AND THE REV. IMRE BERTALAN OF THE HUNGARIAN REF. FEDERATION. PERTH AMBOY, NJ The month of May is always one of the most busiest month of the year in our congregation, and this year was one exception. On the first Sunday of the month the women of our congregation participated in the Conference of Church Women United at New Brunswick. In the history of the conference, this was the very first time when the meeting was held in a congregation that was not part of the Hungarian Reformed Church in America. We are happy to know that our ladies work together for the glory of God. Attendance at the conference was around 120, our church was represented by 25 members. In this issue a special report will be given on the Conference. On the Second Sunday of May our traditional Celebration of Mother’s Day was held. Our church was filled to capacity during a Combined Service. At the close of the service mothers were greeted with flowers by the male members of the Church Council. During the service a special song presentation was made by the children of the congregation, who greeted their mothers, and all mothers in Hungarian. Following the Worship Service the Fellowship Circle continued the celebration with a Mother’s Day Breakfast in the Church Center, at which time the presentation of the “Mother of the Year” award was presented to Mrs. Elizabeth Dudich acknowledging her self-giving to our church.
