All eight of them showed Christian maturity and serious understanding of the teachings and faith of our Hungarian Reformed Church in America. During these past months the Lorantffy Women Guild was really active with a Flea Market, Kolbász and Hurka making, hosting an Easter Social Hat Party, inviting all the members of the Women Guild of neighboring Hungarian Churches. The ladies who attended will never forget the fun, excellent food and the many prizes given out, all courtesy of the members of our Guild. Under the auspecies of the Guild we have introduced a very succesfull Coffee Social, with excellent home made pastries, after the worship services on the first Sunday of each month. In order to help the Church, the Womens Guild also took upon herself to rebuild the deteriorating front and side steps of the church, for many thousands of dollars. The Church Council also agreed to rebuild the Heating and Air Conditioning system, which worked very insufficiently, using too much energy. The men of the Council also organized a Men Club which already is involved in many different fund raising projects. The President of the newly formed Men Club is Bill Chabena, V. P. Ernie Jenei, Treasurer John Nemish and Secretary Edward Sadowski. They organize bus trips to Atlantic City, two-three buses at a time, Christmas Raffle, and other raffles, New Years Eve Party and other projects. Members of our Church participated at the United Church Women Conference in Perth Amboy, also at the Eastern Area Presbyters Conference, as well as at the installation of the Rev. Holy Communion was administered four times during the Easter season and two times at Pentecost. In comparison to the attendance of the year of 1981 we noticed a very great increase of attendance of the Eastern communicants and the church attendance on Mothers Day and the participants at the Mothers Day Dinner was about two times larger than in 1981. The Mother Day Dinner, prepared by the men is always excellent. It is one of the many good reasons to spend the Mothers Day in McKeesport. The Womens Guild will make the Fathers Day Dinner on June 6. We are inviting the ones who used to live in our area and attended our church in the past to join the ones who are still here at the celebration: September 12, 1982. Service will begin at 4:00 p.m. followed by the Dinner. Invitations will be mailed to the area pastors and congregations. Our church is the only one in McKeesport where there are Reformed services held regularly both in Hungarian and English language. We had thirty communicants at the Hungarian service at Pentecost. The largest attendance at the Hungarian service was fifty during this year.
