16. oldal MIAMI, FLORIDA At the Hungarian Church of Reformation, 2924 W. Flagler Street the Sunday worship services begins at 11 a.m., followed by a delicious Hungarian style dinner at the Fellowship Hall. The outstanding events of the months of April and May were: Observance of the Christian holydays: Easter, Penticost, Mother’s Day and Memorial Day. Beside our church activities we represented the Hungarians at the International Festival on May 6 through 9 at the Bayfront Park Auditorium. At the City of Miami Ecology and Beautification Committee’s Clean-up, Fix-up, Paint-up annual program. Our pastor, the Rev. John Paul Nagy is the chairman of this committee. Our pastor presented the Proclamation of Dade County to the Washington Ballet at the Gusman Hall on April 4, 1982. The Ladies Aid of our Church served a delicious dinner after the performance in our Fellowship Hall. PERTH AMBOY, N J. The months of May and June proved to be our busiest months so far this year. On the first Sunday we hosted the Conference of Church Women United with 96 in attendance. Mrs. Elizabeth Dudich was the speaker. Following the Conference all women participated in a delicious dinner. On the Second Sunday we remembered mother’s and honored those living recalled those who went to be with God. On the third Sunday, early in the afternoon we witnessed the union in marriage between Stephen Kasay III. and Kathleen Sullivan. May God grant His blessings on the young couple. Later that afternoon a Hungarian Theatrical play was presented in our Church Center “Legyen úgy, mint régen volt.” All those in attendance enjoyed the play. In the afternoon a few of our members traveled to Trenton for the installation of Rev. Kálmán Adorján. On Sunday, 23rd we hosted the area Presbyter’s Association. Around 40 members were in attendance, who attentively listened to the lectures by Kenneth Matto “Is the church asleep” and by Dan Hedberg “The mission of the Church.” On Sunday, May 30th we celebrated Pentecost, with Mr. L. Medgyesi student assistant delivering the English message. Holy Communion was observed at both worship services. At 2:00 p.m. we gathered with our members to a Memorial Service and Tombstone Dedication in our Calvary Cemetery. Meanwhile our weekly schedule remained the same throughout the month. We have to include our Mother’s Day Breakfast, by the Fellowship Circle, and our Mother of the Year chosen, Mrs. John Marincsak, Sr. In June we took part in the Hungarian Day Celebration at New Brunswick, and plans are made for a Father’s Day Celebration with Breakfast on June 20th. Our Confirmants for this year, which took place of Ascension Thursday were: Matthew Angyal, Elbe Loki, John Gerecs, Robert Magyar, Tibor Menyhért, Eva Berki, and Louis Takacs. Congratulations to them. TRENTON, NJ. On Sunday, May 16th, during a special service at 4 p.m., the new pastor was installed. After the church service a banquet was served by the Lorantffy Zsuzsanna Ladies Aid and the Women’s Guild. MAGYflß QQYMl On June 5th and 6th, at the “Herritage Festival” of our city, the Lorantffy Zsuzsanna Ladies Aid represented our church and in part the Hungarians of our city. Moral and financial success was the result of their work. On Sunday, May 23rd, were confirmed and on Pentecost came to the Lord’s Table for the first time the following: Charles Bish, Jodie Lattin, Michael Reddy and Richard Sparra. Gyülekezeti termünket 5500 dolláros költséggel új faburkolattal vontuk be és az egyházi konyhát és a mellékhelyiségeket újrafestettük. Egyházunk számára dr. Banda Árpád, Banda Terézia és Sala Anna testvéreink 1600 dollárért új tányérokat és evőeszközöket adományoztak. Dr. Banda Árpád testvérünk új magyar, amerikai és keresztyén zászlót adományozott egyházunknak. Mindezeket az adományokat ezúton is hálásan köszönjük. Június 6-án nagy gyülekezet előtt hirdette az igét templomunkban Nt. Bertalan Imre, az Amerikai Magyar Református Egyesület elnöke. Június 6-án, a trianoni tragédiára emlékeztető ünnepi istentisztelet volt templomunkban. Utána bemutattuk Kur Csaba szobrászművész alkotását a Lorántffy Otthon emlékkertjében felállított “magyar szabadságharcos” szobrát. Ugyanekkor áldottuk meg Ravasz László püspök, Ordass Lajos püspök, Mindszenty József hercegprímás és Nt. Kur Géza emléktábláját, majd bemutattuk a nagy közönségnek lelkészünk domborművét és feleségének domborművét, melyet a Lorántffy Otthon igazgatósága és Amerika magyarsága állított kiváló munkájuk elismeréseként. Az ünnepély a Lorántffy Otthon kápolnája előtt elhelyezett és adományként kapott színes mozaikok bemutatásával ért véget. A mozaikok az Or Jézust mint jó pásztort és anyját Máriát ábrázolják. Megkereszteltük Nagy Irén Andreát, Nagy László és neje kisleányát. Keresztszülők lettek Simonek József és neje. Templomunkban megeskettük Phillips Michael Johnt és Pesti Amyt. Tanúk voltak Andelson Lowell és Susan. Ugyacsak megeskettük Kovács Valentine Jeant és Kibler Mary Janetet. Tanúk voltak Tice Wayne és Cynthia. Gyülekezetünk két értékes tagját búcsúztattuk az elmúlt hetekben. Lázár Imre alapító tagunkat nagy magyar gyülekezet kísérte ki földi pihenőhelyére. Bukovey Balázsné testvérünket teljesen megtelt templomból búcsúztattuk angol nyelven. Az Úristen vigasztalja szeretteiket és emlékezetük legyen áldott közöttünk. ALLEN PARK, Detroit, MICH. Úgy tűnik, hogy minden évben nagyobb a lelkesedés és több az áldozatkészség a tagokban és a kereslet is állandóan nő. Köszönet a tisztviselőknek és a hűséges munkásoknak. Az Ifjúsági Egyesület május 1-én és 2-án tartott konferenciája szép eredménnyel zárult, bővebbet róla az angol hírekben olvashatunk. Készülnek ifjaink a nyári táborozásra augusztus 15-től kezdődő héten, ugyanabba a táborba, mint a múlt évben, Ligonier (Pa.) mellett. Az egyheti dij, mindent beleszámítva $85.—. A konfirmált ifjak, akik áldozócsütörtökön tették le a vizsgát és esküt, a következők: DeShetler Roger, Horosz Mihály, Ladányi Jóska, Szabó Nóra. Isten áldása kísérje őket. Anyakönyvünkből: a keresztelést és esketést az angol részben tettük közzé. Elhunytak: Papp Ferencné 86 éves korában március 23-án, Mozgai Sándor 67 éves korában április 12-én, Jacksy Lajos 69 éves korában május 2-án, Lengyel Menyhértné 89 éves korában május 4-én. Emlékük legyen áldott! Az egyház nyári nagy kirándulása, társas összejövetele július 11-én, vasárnap délután lesz, a Champaign Parkban.
