The Sanctuary of our Toronto Church. NEWS FROM THE CONGREGATIONS AKRON, OHIO Our annual musical church picnic was the best ever during the history of our church. Our clear income was over $5,000.00. On July 1st we baptized the following Christians: Kimberly Patonai, Kevin Patonai, Michelle Patonai, James Charles Knox, Michelle Lynn Knox and Linda Kovács. May God bless richly the newly baptized. On June 24th we confirmed Penny Bácsfalvi, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Viktor Bácsfalvi. We blessed the weddings of Mr. and Mrs. James Patonai (Rebecca Orolin) and Mr. and Mrs. Theodore George Achimasi (Dorothy Ann White). Funerals: On May 23rd John Miskár (with the service of Rev. Kálmán Adorján), on July 17th Anna Finta, on July 30th Mária Usztyán. May God comfort the bereaved families. We are thankful for the donations. On October 14tb, Sunday afternoon the Western Classis of the Hungarian Reformed Church in America will have a meeting in our church. On Sunday, June 17th, Father’s Day, the Martha Circle presented a carnation to every father, the Dorcas Guild and Ladies’ Aid Society also gave them a memento book-mark, in the Sunday School they received special gifts. The Annual Elder’s Conference in Ligonier, Pa. will be held on the Labor Day weekend, September 2nd and 3rd. A few delegates plan to attend. National President, Edmund Vig, sent special invitations to all pastors and churches. The “Bluebells of Finland-’ all girl choir under the leadership of Rev. Akos Papp had a concert in Livonia-Detroit area. Our choir and church members organized a bus excursion to attend it. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful music. Our guest minister for 3 Sundays while the pastor was on vacation was The Very Rev. Tibor Toth, Dean, Pastor Emeritus, of the church. Rev. and Mrs. Toth were visiting families and friends. Thanks and appreciation for their services. The Council of Churches organized a Ladies Baseball League. Our team is participating with zeal and enthusiasm in the games.
