The Lenten Season is a time for reflection and, in our fast moving world, a new opportunity to determine where we are beaded as individuals and as members of the Christian community. In this season sermon topics deal with the challenges of modern life and the ways in which we as believers meet them. Even the severe Michigan winter has not dampened the enthusiasm of our congregation. We are especially grateful to the “old timers” who remain young in spirit. Over five hundred guests were present for our annual pork supper and dance, which was held on January 29th. It was good to see so many people who came from so far away to share in “a bit of Hungary.” Mr. James Gaiko, new head of our Men’s Guild, ably aided by a fine staff of officers, continues the great work his precedessor, James Lorencz, did for a number of years. The Golden Circle Club, made up of twenty active couples, has had a busy season. Its new head, Mr. Orville Simon, has had fine cooperation from all the couples. Mrs. Helen Kaplar continues as head of the Dorcas Guild and Mrs. George Kovács leads the Ladies Aid Society, as in years past. These are all active, working organizations, and we are justifiably proud of their efforts for the strengthening of our church’s witness. The Annual Congregational Meeting was held on Sunday, February 20, at both the 9:45 a. m. English language service and at the 11 a. m. Hungarian language service. Since church officers were elected at the November meeting, the Annual Meeting was able to place its emphasis on routine church programming. The Lenten Services of Holy Communion will be held on Sunday, February 27th. From our Church Register: Matthew Mark, son of Dennis and Donna Pitel Tibbetts, was born on November 21,
