ALLEN PARK, MICH. At the end of this year of grace we as a congregation express our heartfelt thanks to God for all his blessings. The work of the church continued in a time of great indifference to spiritual matters, the officers and members bore witness anew to their commitment as fellow servants of Christ. Holiday services were well attended. We are the only church in this community which retains the ancient custom of administering the Holy Elements on Christmas Day. Although our membership is increasingly moving to the further suburbs of Detroit, loyalty to the church remains constant. The Sunday School had its annual holiday party on December 17th. Holiday customs of the nations were the theme of our play, presented by the various church school classes. The Young Adults again sponsored their annual New Year’s Eve Dance, which was again well attended. The Men’s Guild is grateful to all members who brought in food items for its holiday appeal. A number of needy families had brighter holidays as a result. Our new confirmation class is faithfully engaged in the study of our faith. They will be formally examined at the Palm Sunday service next April. Work has begun on the Annual Report of the congregation. All organizations are requested to prepare their activity and financial reports. We have received a very encouraging letter from the chief elder of the Hungarian Reformed Mission in Buenos Aires. Though now without a pastor, the congregation retains its enthusiasm, with services conducted by the elders. Our church sends a monthly donation toward this necessary work. Baptism: Silvia, daughter of Ferenc and Cecilia Imre, was baptized on December 17th. Death: Mrs. Kalman Zsidi died on November 20th. May the risen Lord comfort her family.
