20 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ Robert de Csipkés, Major Tibor Csik, Sgt. Gerald Hudacskó, L./Cpl. Zsolt Nagyhetényi, Sgt. Ronald Polak, Sgt. Zoltán Török, Mrs. Stephen Lenkei, mother of Pfc. Louis Ambrose received the medal for her son posthumously. The Rt. Rev. Dr. Zoltán Béky, Bishop emeritus from Washington, D. C. spoke on behalf of the Ákos Székely Memorial Medal Committee and presented the medals. 425 people attended the Thanksgiving Banquet, prepared by the members of the Women’s Guild and served by the Christian Youth Fellowship. Our clear income was $1,353.67. Thanks to the members of our Bazaar Committee (Charles Boehme, John Kato, Mrs. Emma Jean Rutherford, Ernest Ladich, Frank Race, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Sala) for the hard work and thanks to the members of our congregation for the wonderful cooperation. Thanks to Mrs. Louis Muck and Mrs. Joseph Finta for the wonderful hand made afghan. BETHLEHEM, PA. New members: Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hegedűs and their five children. A group of nine from our church attended the Thanksgiving Day celebrations in Perth Amboy. The costs of the new porch and sidewalk in front of the parsonage were over $1,500. Burial: Stephen Csontos, 87, on November 22. Surviving are 4 sons, 3 daughters, 21 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren. CARTERET, N. J. Thanksgiving Communion brought 102 communicants around the Lord’s Table. The order of services during the holiday season will be as follows: Sunday, December 21 — Sunday School Christmas program at 9:30 followed by breakfast, distribution of gifts and a Christmas film presentation in Bethlen Hall. Christmas Eve — Hungarian at 6:30, English with candlelight at 8:00; Christmas Day — English at 9:00, Hungarian at 11:00, both with the observance of holy communion; December 26 — Hungarian at 11; Sunday, December 28 — English af 9:30, Hungarian at 11:00; New Year’s Eve — English at 6:30, Hungarian at 7:30; New Year’s Day — Hungarian at 11:00. Members of the Youth Fellowship and of the confirmation classes will go carolling during the holidays. DETROIT-ALLEN PARK, Dec. 24, Christmas Eve Services at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 25, Christmas Day: English Service at 9:30 a.m., Hungarian Service at 11 a.m. Holy Communion at both services. DUQUESNE, PA. Funeral: Andrew Kovats Sr., on November 14th. Interment in our cemetery. Our Thanksgiving Communion was observed on November 22nd. 167 members participated in this service, also 9 sick and shut-ins received the holy elements. The Women’s Club held its annual Christmas Party - Supper on December 3rd. Our Sunday School held its Christmas Party on December 14th. The students and teachers produced a modern play “Christmas in the Cobbler Shop.” Our Christmas Season schedule: Advent Vesper Service, bilingual, with communion — December 19th, 7:00 p.m. Christmas Eve service, bilingual, 7:00 p.m. Christmas Day Service, Hungarian 9:30 a.m., English 11:00 a.m. both with communion. Hungarian Service at 11 a.m. on Second Day of Christmas, December 26th. Watchnight Service, bilingual, December 31st, 7:00 p.m. Hungarian Service at 11 a.m., New Year’s Day, January 1st, 1970. McKeesport, pa. 148 persons took communion at New Wine-Thanksgiving, including 10 shut-ins and sick. Baptisms: Robert Bingle and Gloria Husack’s daughter, Robin Ann Bingle. Godparents are Ronald Wracher (Delmont, Pa.) and Georgie-Ann Fundrella (McKeesport, Pa.) — Ronald James Evancho and Beverly Slack’s son — Ronald J-mes, Jr. Godparents are James Sabo and Denise Morgan. — Raymond Riley and Olga Gatchie’s children: Raymond Michael, Lisa Marie, Leane Susan. Godparents are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stepansky. Funerals: Alexander Kendi, 75 yrs., born de Perbenyik, Zemplén county. — Alexander Balogh L., 60 yrs., born in Monongahela, Pa. May God console the bereaved families! Congratulations to Carl Alexander on his successful Bar Examination. The following guest ministers served in our church: the Rev. Dezső Trombitás, the Rev. Zoltán Szucs, the Rev. Alexander Forro, the Rev. Barnabas Roczey. While the minister was in the hospital, John Kontz, Joseph Meszar and Robert Jácklitch conducted the worship services. Stephen Torok will be our student preacher in the Christmas Season. He is a student at the New York Theological Seminary. Congregational meetings will be held on January 11th and 18th, 1970.
