His office should be taken from him if he is not willing to correct his sinful behavior and if he teaches false doctrines. Amen.” NEWS FROM THE CONGREGATIONS AKRON, OHIO On July 21, a special congregational meeting decided to pay off tlie mortgage on our new church. On July 29, we mailed the check ($51,179.11) to the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America. Thanks to God, thanks to our hard working and sacrificing members, thanks to everyone who helped to reach our big goal! We had a very successful picnic on July 14th in the St. Nicholas Park, Barberton. The chief organizer of our picnic was our faithful councilman Ernie Ladich. Our income from the picnic was $2,082.11. On Father’s Day the Rev. Árpád Bakay occupied our pulpit. The chief cook of our Father’s Day dinner was councilman John Botzern. The Pastor was present at the installation of Bishop Dezső Ábrahám in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. The Rev. Tibor Dömötör took the official oath during the meeting of the General Assembly thus becoming a member of the Judicial Committee. According to the decision of our church council we gave our church house to the children for Sunday School purposes. Simon Adler donated $25 to the Sunday School. Our Youth Group had a good pancake breakfast on July 21, Sunday morning before the worship service. On August 11th, Bishop Dezső Ábrahám was our guest preacher. On this day we had a “Unity Banquet” and also celebrated the 35th anniversary of the congregation and the 3rd anniversary of our new church building. On August 17th, Saturday we had a bus trip to Ligonier, Pa. Thirty-eight members participated. BETHLEHEM, PA. In the absence of the pastor Sándor E. Chomos preached at the services on June 30th and Julv 7th. The Lord’s Supper was served on August 11th. The holy elements were donated by Mrs. John Haszonics. Mr. J. Kovary had surgery but lie is well again. CARTERET, N. J. The Lorant fy Society presented the Building Fund with a check for $1,800 which enabled us to prepay 13 months’ mortgage installments. May the Lord bless the work of their hands and their spirit of giving! The Lorantfy-ladies were guests of the Pastor and Mrs. Harsanyi at Lake Hopatcong; the Youth Fellowship had an excellent picnic at the home of Chief Elder and Mrs. Louis J. Szabó. The Church Picnic is scheduled for August 11. Baptisms: Robert Louis, son of Tibor I arga and his wife, Theresa An i Ricchiuti, on June 16, godpaients: Richard Betia and Mrs. Mur garet Alexái; Gregory Charles, first son of Clinton Howard Miller and his wife, Judith Ann Varga, on June 30, godparents: John P. Miller and Miss Sandra Varga; Martha Ildikó, first child of Ferenc Delbács and his wife, Ilona Szabó, on July 7, godparents: Richard and Mary Gephart, and from the old country Lajos Makri and his wife Margit Szabó. Weddings: John Eugene Kovács and Patricia Jane Sipos, on July 20; Ronald Job Pross and Linda Raye Jensen, on July 27. Both Ronald and Linda have been active youth fellowship members for many years. Funerals: John Varga, 82, on June 29, Charles Térjék, 82, on July 10. Both were past elders of the Church and held membership in the Carteret congregation for over 50 years. An extended and successful Vacation Bible School was held August 5-9. Mrs. Kent Dodge, Miss Margaret Lukach, Mrs. Andrew Harsanyi and the Pastor were teaching assisted by Miss Elissa Batnburak, Miss Lynn David, Miss Cheryle Dodge and Miss Lynn Ullersberger; Mrs. Lillian Timari prepared the daily refreshments.
