DUQUESNE, PA. 143 members came to communion at Harvest Home Communion; 6 shut-ins received the holy elements in their homes. On September 8th we will return to our winter schedule, Hungarian service and Sunday School 9:45, Worship Service (English) at 11 a.m. During the Pastor’s visit to Hungary, the laymen of the church served on two Sundays. Alex Wargó and Andrew Gougler delivered the sermons. Members of the council served as lay readers. Baptism: on July 21st, Jessica Marie, Robert and Jeannie Bodnar's daughter; godparents: Charles and Carol Ginardi. NILES, OHIO (Southside United Presbyterian Church) Mr. and Mrs. Dale S. Ellis received their first child Monika Rose in July. Mrs. Ellis is the former Sue Szakacs, daughter of Elder and Mrs. Moses Szakacs. Elder Harold Henninger underwent eye surgery in the University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. Ruth juhasz had exploratory surgery at North Side Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. The Young Ladies Auxiliary’s second annual picnic at Farmer Jim's place was well attended. The last church picnic of the summer will be held on the Teglas-farm on August 18th. Mrs. John Webster attended the Leadership Training of the Synod of Ohio held at Wooster College in July. She has been one of our teachers in the Junior High class. Her two daughters, Becky and Dory, were also enrolled. Mrs. Webster gave a good report on the new aspects in education to the congregation during a worship service. The following Elders will fill the pulpit in August, during the pastor’s vacation: Joseph P. Kish, Robert Kovach, Dallas Woodall and Emery Patterson. Rev. Sewell will attend the Calvin Synod Youth Conference at Camp Kanesatake, Pa., August 18-24th, where he is to teach in the Workshop on the "Religions of the World.” PERTH AMBOY, N. J. On Sunday, September 1st, Holy Communion at both services, 9:00 A.M. and 10:30 A.M. The young people painted the fence around the parking lot during the month of July. Thanks and appreciation to all who participated. The National Youth Conference during the Labor Day weekend to he arranged by the Trenton and New Brunswick youth groups, will be attended by 27 members of our organization. Mrs. Elizabeth Dudich, Mrs. Lillian Varga, and Joseph Bányácski will go with the group. The Vacation Bilde School was well attended this summer; out of 145 enrolled the average daily attendance was 112. The Annual Conference for Elders to be held on September 1-2, in Ligonier, Pa., will be attended by seven delegates from our church; John Marincsák chief elder and Joseph Bányácski vice president are in charge of the reservations. If interested, please, contact them! Our Sunday School’s Rally Day program is scheduled for the end of September or for the first Sunday in October. The Saturday Bible School will start on September 14th, at 9 A.M. Parents and teachers, please keep this date in mind. Those who would like to help should contact Miss Carol Ann Harsányi. Children from 3 years up to confirmation age should come. Junior and Senior Confirmation Class children, those who are in the 7th and 8th grades or are 12 years old, must register and attend regularly. ROEBLING, N. J. On Sunday, September 8 we shall return to our regular schedule: Sunday School at 9 a.m., English Worship Service at 10 a.m., and Hungarian Worship Service at 11 a.m. Baptism: June 9—Sandra Jean, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Somogyi, Jr.; June 23—Suzanne Renee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Jacoby. May God bless th ese children and their parents. Our annual picnic was attended by many of our friends and guests. Among our guests were the Bishop Dezső Ábrahám, Fr. Eugene Lentien and Fr. John Chukla. The following children had a perfect attendance in our Sunday School: Kathleen Bartha, Nancy Bartha. Joyce Takach, and Judith Talcach. They received a gift from the church. STATEN ISLAND, N. Y. New Bread Communion was held on August 18. The holy elements were donated hy Mrs. Nicholas Nyary. All organizations of the church will resume their regular activities in September. The Sunday School will start on September 15 and the Confirmation class on September 21. Our 6 confirmands will continue their second year of preparation. The Annual Bazaar is the most favorite affair of our people. We plan to have it on September 28 and October 5. We invite all our members and friends for this joyful occurrence. We shall observe World Wide Communion on Sunday, October 6. The Council decided to carry out some very needed repair jobs in the church building. For this program we shall start a money raising campaign. We ask all our members to participate in this very important plan. YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO On June 22nd 15 members of the Youth Group attended the Western Classis Youth Conference at Duquesne, Pa. The following members of our Youth Group were elected for the coming year as officers of the Western Classis Youth Organization: Gerald Vantell president, Lorraine Mocker secretary, and Donna V antell treasurer. On August 7th 39 persons visited the orphanage and old peoples home in Ligonier, Pa. Our picnic, held on August 18th on the Hohvart Farm by the Ladies Aid, was a success.
