A district meeting with Akron and Youngstown, Ohio, is being planned for some Sunday in October. NEWS FROM THE CONGREGATIONS BETHLEHEM, Pa. Sunday School resumed its regu­lar schedule on September 8th. The Second-year Confirmation Class meets every Saturday; the First-year Class every Wednesday. Representatives from our congre­gation attended the 50th anniversary of our sister church in Roebling, N. J. Pastor Gondöcz will conduct a worship service in the Dutch language at the Christian Reformed Church of Sussex, N. J. on October 6th. CARTERET All organizations of the church have begun their new season. The following order is observed on Sun­days: 8:45 — Junior and Senior Confirmation Classes; 9:45 — Eng­lish Worship Service and Sunday School; Sunday School students participate in the initial part of the service; 11:00 — Hungarian Wor­ship Service. The Youth Fellowship meets every second and fourth Sun­day of the month at 7 P.M. in the Uper Room of Bethlen Hall. World Wide Communion Sunday services will begin at 9:30 (English) and 11 (Hungarian) on October 6th. Preparatory service in Hungarian Saturday at 7 P.M. Renovation work on the manse is progressing well; we expect to have the job finished before Winter. The Men’s Club invited the Men’s Clubs from New York, Perth Amboy and Trenton to an Interclub Social on September 25. The Men will sponsor a Grape Festival Dance in Bethlen Hall on Saturday, October 19 to which they extend a cordial invitation to all. The Annual Thanksgiving Dinner will be held Saturday, November 9. Hidi’s Caravan Band will play at this affair as well as at the Grape Festival. Baptism: Norman Leslie, Jr., son of Norman Leslie Palmer and his wife Arlene Rompa; godparents are Ernest Rompa and Mrs. Irene Rom­pa Lukach. Burial: John Orosz, 73 years old, who came to America from Izsnyéte, Bereg county, Hungary. The following new officers of the Junior Women’s Guild were instal­led by the Pastor: Mrs. Judy Sendel­­sky president, Mrs. Marge Jensen vice-president, Mrs. Julia Megyesi treasurer, Mrs. Judy Fischer record­ing secretary, Mrs. Irene Pross (111 Pulaski Ave., Carteret, N. J.) cor­responding secretary, Mrs. Bertha Cromwell chaplain. Under the leadership of Mr. and Mrs. John Nemish, advisers, a delegation of 11 of our Youth Fel­lowship attended the Annual B.Y.F. Conference. DETROIT Worship services in English are now held Sunday mornings at 10 o’clock; Sunday School and Adult Bible Class at 9 A.M. Confirmation Class every Saturday at 11 A.M. On September 15th, the Rev. Andrew Harto, pastor of the Toledo Hungarian Calvin United Church of Christ and Dean Tibor Toth ex­changed pulpits. We also attended the 60th anniversary of the Toledo Church. On September 29th we held a very successful social to aid the building fund of the Bethlen Home, Ligonier, Pa. Our Annual Bazaar will be held on October 18th and 20th with a Fish Fry on the 18th from 4 P.M. on. Holy Communion will be observed in our church on October 27th. DUQUESNE Among summer activities of the congregation there are two things we may record: we held our Summer Harvest Communion on August 11 and on the next Sunday we visited the Bethlen Home of Ligonier, Pa. On September 8 we returned to the regular Sunday morning sched­ule, accordingly we hold our Hun­garian Services at 9:45 A.M. and the English Services at 11 A.M. The Sunday School was reopened on that day, too, the regular session being held during the Hungarian services and the Preschool Depart­ment (Nursery & Beginners) during the English services. The Sunday School is undergoing the usual an­nual reorganization, assignment of new teachers and renewing our staff, the result of which we will report in the coming issues. The program of the congregation this fall includes two communion services (World Wide Communion on October 6 and Thanksgiving Communion on November 24) and the Fall Fellowship Dinner (Novem­ber 3). The Women’s Club held their first meeting of the season on Septem­ber 18. It was the first meeting for the new officers elected in June, namely: Margaret Kovach, Presi­dent; Ann: Shigo, Vice-President; Julia Nagy, Secretary; Gazella Mansfield, Treasurer. The program chairman is Elizabeth Rozgonyi and her committee includes Margaret Balder, Ella Fodo, Helen Homoki, Julia Nagy, Helen Sapos, Ann Shigo, Helen Shigo, Helen Szabó and Irene Zeleznik, The Good Neighbor com­mittee includes Irene Zeleznik, Margaret Palagy, Margaret Peclet and Helen Sapos. Margaret Szőke is in charge of the Mission Group, Olga Darnay is the chairlady of the Cancer Dressing Group. There were 12 young people at­tending the National Youth Con­ference; this year our youth were host to the Conference and our pastor its leader. PERTH AMBOY October is loyalty month: so all church members are urged to attend services regularly. The first Sunday is World Wide Communion. The Saturday Bible School is open again from 9 A.M. to 12 noon. The Confirmation age children must attend regularly. Sunday School continued during the summer months. Their Rally Day is scheduled for Sunday, Oc­tober 6th at 2 P.M. Our new choir director, Mr. W. Lane, from Westminster Choir College, Princeton, N.J., will have the Senior Choir rehearsals on Wednesdays from 7 to 9 P.M., the Junior Choir rehearsals on Satur­days from 10:30 A.M. The 60th Anniversary of our congregation will be celebrated on Sunday, November 24th. Our mem­bers and friends are asked to re­serve this date!
