BRAHIM ÇELEBI (d. 993/1588) begins with a kaside in Persian. The author was pupil of EBUSSUUD EFENDI (d. 982/1573) <see N° 1>. He was born in Bursa. He died as cadi of Hama. According to the sources, his mesnevi under the title Nakş-i hayal was a well-known work. At the same time, the sources don't mention this work of the author, whose name appears on two different places in the manuscript: (1 lb) JLAI <JJ JJSLG <JA .cl I JLJI jjH ^jjl and (16a) >U. EHH jl jj I jjl "i 1 < in o Jjia jjjj The passage fı-evasıt-ı Safer 987 (March 1579) in the colophon is an important reference to the age of the poet.
