Mong. 96 Chinese-Mongolian Thematical Glossary, Illustrated Blockprint, double-leaved book, 19th century re-edition of a Jiaqing print (1801); Chinese paper, 12 : 17.9 (9.7-9.8 : 11.8-12.3) cm, Chinese pagination (53 f.), 6 entries/page; ff. la-38b each entry illustrated, Chinese words with mostly distorted Manchu transliteration above the primitive wood-cut image, Mongol words with numerous errors and sometimes with Manchu diacriticals as well as with a Chinese transcription below the image. The last illustrated entry is found on f. 39a, then usually 6x2 entries/page. Title and colophon on yellow upper cover in 4 lines in the 4 vertical sections of the doublelined frame (9.5 : 11 cm) Man Han tongwen [in Manchu transcription, read:] Man %an tung wen/ Xinchu duixiang Menggu zazil S iyen [!] cu du i siyang Mongyo ja ji . / Jingdu Damochang Wenchengdang xinhang "Various Mongol terms newly edited, illustrated, and supplied with Manchu and Chinese script. Distributed by the Wenchengdang of the Metropolitan Damochang." Title on f. la: Xinke jiaozheng maimai Mengu tongwen zazi "Various Mongol terms with parallel scripts, new woodcut, corrected for traders". Inc. after title on f. la: tian "" [= tiyan], image of a gate-tower, under it follows the Chinese transcription teng-ge-li with "Mongolian" '"k'y [= tngri "heaven"], etc. Last illustrated entry, f. 39a: wanshou, w[a]n suu, above the image of a Mongol whip, with the Mongol equivalent ba-li-tu[1]-le-ke with "Mongol" bywr?k' (for beriye "stick" or bariyulya "handle"?), then follows zhenghong, jeng kuuk [= Jong], wu-lian he-shuo with "Mongol" ulan gecoo [= ulayan qosiyu "red banner"], etc. End, f. 53b: baniju, ban geo [!], illustrated (the only one after f. 39a), with the Mongol equivalent wu-te with "Mongolian" u tan [!; read tiiiitei "turtle-dove"?].
