s and a cursory glance at the problems around them prove sufficiently that Csoma's attempts were not "dreamings" and "formless imaginations". On the contrary, he did a great service to further research. His manuscript was buried for half a century or so, and even Duka's report did not draw proper attention to it. Our task is to acknowledge what was right in his putting questions. These questions gave food to mind of many scholars! At the same time we have to see the real value of his output in the time he lived and worked. He was certainly not behind his contemporarians
